  • Patent number: 4883152
Abstract: A drive sleeve of the present invention includes a peripheral collar seated with an operational clearance, in a recess defined in a housing. The outside of the sleeve includes ribbing extending in the notches of a driving plate pressing a friction lining against the housing under the effect of a "Belleville" washer to which a load is appropriately applied by a flange.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 1988
Date of Patent: November 28, 1989
    Assignee: Societe Equipements Electriques Moteur
    Inventor: Francis Froment
  • Patent number: 4837468
Abstract: A double casing for an electric rotating machine stator includes two pipes placed coaxially one inside the other. The pipes have therethrough aligned openings for receiving screws for mounting polar supports to the inside of the casing. Each hole in the outer pipe is formed by performing a punching deformation operation of an initially cylindrical hole in the outer pipe. This forms a countersink dimensioned to accommodate the head of a respective screw. Such operation also forms a boss of the material of the outer pipe and causes such boss to extend inwardly from the countersink into the corresponding hole in the inner pipe.

  • Patent number: 4649285
Abstract: An electric starter comprising a base plate supporting the housing of its electric motor and the yoke of its contactor, wherein the base plate has a central bore in which is placed a bearing maintained in position by means of a disc of plastics material moulded over the plate and which further constitutes the outer ring gear of an epicycloidal reduction gear placed between the electric motor and the shaft of the starter actuator. The disc may further include a lateral lug constituting support for the pin of the actuator lever. A flange made around the ring may form a seal between the housing of the electric motor and the base plate. The invention is more particularly applicable to electric starters for internal combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 4600850
Abstract: A brush-holder for the disc commutator of rotating electric machines, in which axially-disposed brushes are maintained in abutment against the disc commutator by a spring constituted by two windings housed in a cavity located in the brush-holder opposite the brush guides. The two windings are separated by a median loop which engages elastically behind a retaining catch. The invention is particularly applicable to electric starters for internal combustion engines.
