  • Patent number: 4574330
Abstract: An article for dissipating heat generated by an alphanumeric display which is mounted on an electronic circuit board. The article includes a heat sink which is coupled to the underside of the alphanumeric display. The heat sink has at least one transfer member which extends through the electronic circuit board and is coupled to a dissipation plate. The dissipation plate is exposed to an environment which is removed from the immediate environment of the electronic circuit board. Heat generated by the alphanumeric display is transferred to the heat sink and through the transfer member(s) to the dissipation plate. The heat is then dissipated in an environment which is removed from that of any electronic components mounted on the electronic circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4475049
Abstract: A circuit for carrying data between a host system and a remote unit includes first and second edge-triggered delay-type flip-flops coupled to first and second input lines, respectively. Combinational logic coupled to the output of the first flip-flop and to the first and second input lines transmits data on at least one of the input lines to the remote unit. This creates a redundancy which provides for the continued transmission of data between the host and the remote unit in the event that one of the input channels fails.

  • Patent number: 4194147
Abstract: A switching regulator system and method for producing regulated output voltage and current in response to an unregulated input voltage, including a plurality of switching regulators connected in parallel and control circuitry to accomplish uniform loading of each of the switching regulators according to the rated current producing capacity of each regulator. The switching regulators each include a switching transistor, an inductor responsive to the switching transistor, a free-wheeling diode responsive to the inductor, and a comparator for providing an output signal representative of whether the regulated output voltage exceeds a threshold. The control circuitry poroduces a control signal repesentative of the logical OR of the comparator output signals.

  • Patent number: 4169243
Abstract: This relates to a circuit for generating a voltage which is proportional to changes in the resistance of a remote resistive sensing element, due to, for example, changes in temperature, pressure (such as from a strain gauge), etc. The sensing element is coupled to the circuit by three lead wires each having lead wire resistance. Means including first and second operational amplifiers are provided for cancelling errors in the output voltage due to voltage drops in the lead wires.
