  • Publication number: 20230287583
Abstract: Integrated energy systems, such as for use in green industrial processes that produce few or no carbon emissions, and associated devices and methods are described herein. A representative integrated energy system can include a power plant system having multiple modular nuclear reactors. The nuclear reactors can generate steam for direct industrial use or for use in an electrical power conversion system to generate electricity. Individual ones of the nuclear reactors can be configured to flexibly generate differing outputs of steam or electricity based on the vary requirements of the industrial processes of the integrated energy system. The industrial processes can include, for example, the production of hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, ammonia, urea, sulfur, sulfuric acid, and/or other useful chemicals.

  • Publication number: 20230279756
Abstract: Integrated energy systems, such as for use in enhanced oil recovery operations, and associated devices and methods are described herein. A representative integrated energy system can include a power plant system having multiple modular nuclear reactors. The nuclear reactors can generate steam for direct industrial use or for use in an electrical power conversion system to generate electricity. Individual ones of the nuclear reactors can be configured to generate steam or electricity based on the requirements of different stages of the oil recovery operation. For example, during a first stage, a subset of the nuclear reactors can be configured to generate steam for the oil recovery operation for injection into an oil reservoir. During a second stage, some or all of the nuclear reactors in the subset can be reconfigured to generate electricity that can be routed to an industrial process different than the oil recovery operation.

  • Publication number: 20190188324
Abstract: Method and system for enriching a knowledge graph are described. The knowledge graph enrichment system provides a way of generating candidates for a new node ready to be folded into the existing graph, and also a new way of connecting nodes via semantic equivalence inferred via the proposed approach. The technical problem of inferring the sematic equivalent entities and relating them automatically in the knowledge graph is addressed by providing the methodology that utilizes neural machine translation via round trip translations through one or more bridging languages. A bridging language is a natural or an artificial morphologically-rich language.

  • Publication number: 20060251204
Abstract: The invention describes a product and a method for generating electrical power directly from nuclear power. More particularly, the invention describes the use of a liquid semiconductor as a means for efficiently converting nuclear energy, either nuclear fission and/or radiation energy, directly into electrical energy. Direct conversion of nuclear energy to electrical energy is achieved by placing nuclear material in close proximity to a liquid semiconductor. Nuclear energy emitted from the nuclear material, in the form of fission fragments or radiation, enters the liquid semiconductor and creates electron-hole pairs. By using an appropriate electrical circuit an electrical load is applied and electrical energy generated as a result of the creation of the electron-hole pairs.
