  • Patent number: 4967833
Abstract: In a steam condenser in which the steam is condensed on tubes which are grouped together in separate nests (2) and through which cooling water flows, the tubes, arranged in rows, of a nest enclosing a hollow space (13), a cooler (14) for the non-condensable gases in arranged in the hollow space. Two nests (2) are provided which are at a distance from one another and to which steam is admitted over their entire periphery, the nest form, irrespective of the external form of the condenser, being selected in such a way that first of all a convergent flow channel (15)--accelerating the steam--and then adjoining it a divergent retaining part (16)--deflecting the steam--are formed between the nests (2) on the one side and also between one nest each and the condenser wall. The cooler (14) for the non-condensable gases is located inside a nest in the plane in which, outside the nest, the convergent steam channel merges into the divergent part.

  • Patent number: 4776170
Abstract: In a device for degassing the feed-water line in the cycle of, for example, a nuclear heated electricity generating plant, steam bubbles are introduced into the condensate beneath the water level in the condensate collecting vessel via spray nozzles in order to solve the acute steam generator corrosion problems. For this purpose, a flow channel, in which the condensate follows a particular path to the hot well is provided in the vessel. Several spray nozzles are provided spaced out in the flow direction of the condensate. The steam/gas mixture escaping from the condensate is guided in counterflow to a steam balance opening which is located in the intermediate floor in the entry region of the flow channel the intermediate floor screening the vessel from the condensation space of the condenser.

  • Patent number: 4729667
Abstract: The process consists in that two comparison tube sections (3; 4), which originate from a single condenser tube and of which one (3) is left in the corroded condition and/or the condition encrusted by mineral deposits and the other (4) is brought into the new condition by etching or other cleaning procedures, are conductively connected in series, and cooling water flows through them and they are heated from the outside in a condenser chamber in each case (1 and 2 respectively) by steam flows of equal power. The temperatures (t.sub.1, t.sub.2 and t.sub.3, t.sub.4 respectively) measured at the inlet and outlet positions of the comparison tube sections (3; 4), the measured values of the mass flow of cooling water (M.sub.w) and the steam temperatures (t.sub.f ; t.sub.b) and the heat flows (Q.sub.kf =Q.sub.kb) in the two condenser chambers (1 and 2 respectively) permit the determination of the thermal resistance (R.sub.
