  • Patent number: 10495282
Abstract: A vehicular lamp assembly, a vehicle and a method of providing illumination of a vehicular tail lamp. The assembly includes a combination lamp, lid lamp and one or more optic elements. The combination lamp has a first outer lens and one or more light sources disposed on an inward-facing side of the first outer lens. The lid lamp includes a second outer lens and a reflective element disposed on an inward-facing side of the second outer lens. The optic element is signally cooperative with the light source to convey at least a portion of its direct beam pattern to the reflective element which subsequently redirects a reflected portion into an indirect beam pattern through the lid lamp outer lens. In this way, the light source or sources may be housed solely within a region defined by the combination lamp while giving the appearance of illumination coming from both the combination lamp and the lid lamp.

  • Patent number: 10408414
Abstract: A headlamp assembly including a light source element, an outer lens, a fan, and a bezel structure, wherein the bezel structure is disposed forward of the fan in a vehicle-longitudinal direction and includes an air flow directing feature directing air flow from the fan toward the inner surface of the lens. Embodiments of the headlamp assembly generate light using low-temperate light emitting diodes (LEDs) and direct air flow over components thermodynamically coupled to the LEDs such that the air absorbs heat from the components and distributes the heat throughout the headlamp assembly, especially on the inner surface of the outer lens to reduce the condensation thereon. Further, embodiments may include a bezel structure having a pair of vehicle-forward concave sections disposed at the forward end of the bezel structure that disperse air through the headlamp assembly in a wide aperture to distribute thermal energy more equally throughout the headlamp assembly.

  • Publication number: 20180170247
Abstract: A vehicular lamp assembly, a vehicle and a method of providing illumination of a vehicular radiator grille. The assembly includes a housing that includes a main headlamp light source that can selectively direct a beam of light through an outer lens produce a first beam pattern, while a grille light source in conjunction with an optic element can be used to selectively a second beam pattern that is routed through the grille to provide illumination to such grille. The placement of both the main headlamp light source and the grille light source within a common headlamp assembly provides enhanced environmental protection of the light sources while avoiding encroachment into vehicular front end territory that is typically reserved for the grille's traditional air flow and related heat exchange functions.

  • Patent number: 7180494
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and a device (30) for controlling a multiplexed display comprising a plurality of pixels arranged in lines and in columns and coupled to line electrodes and column electrodes, each of the pixels being selectively activated or deactivated by a determined combination of a line signal (BP1 to BP24) and of a column signal (FP1 to FP5) applied respectively across the corresponding line and column electrodes. According to the present invention, the display is switched between a first so-called normal operating mode, wherein all the display lines are activated, and at least a second so-called standby operating mode, wherein so-called non-active lines of the display are deactivated by applying, across the corresponding line electrodes, so-called non-activation line signals.

  • Patent number: 5924768
Abstract: A pivoting handle for assisting a passenger of a vehicle upon entering, exiting or remaining in a vehicle. The handle includes one or more brackets for mounting the device on a single or multiple headrest bars, such that the handle will not interfere with extension or retraction of the headrest. Several of the disclosed brackets are designed for use in original equipment manufactured vehicles, while others are designed for use in integration into an existing aftermarket vehicle. The body of the handle is made of an impact resistant material over a core of rigid plastic or metal, so that the shape can be retained. The body is jacketed with a vinyl or leather so that its color can be harmonious with the interior of the passenger compartment. The handle is shaped to provide a conformable grasp with both hands of the occupant.
