    Abstract: A portable door lock has a threaded locking bar having a hooked end that engages the hole of a strike plate. A block and a locking nut are carried by the bar. The locking nut is movable between unlocked and locked positions. When in the unlocked position, the locking nut may slide back and forth along the bar. When in the locked position, the thread of the locking nut engages thread portions of the threaded bar to prevent the locking nut from sliding along the bar.
