  • Patent number: 5048676
Abstract: A cardboard strip (10) is folded around an electric lamp (1) in the direction of its axis (3), which strip has an opening (16) through which the lamp cap (4) of the lamp projects in axial direction. The cardboard strip (10) has a window (13) for inspecting the lamp vessel (2) and tongues (17, 18) bent inwards from this window, enclosing the lamp (1) laterally. The cardboard strip (10) is provided with a tag (11) having a suspension opening (12) and, possibly, a flat base (20). The lamp can then be displayed in upright and hanging position. The packing allows for visual inspection of the lamp from the front and testing of the lamp without removing it from the packing.

  • Patent number: 4390097
Abstract: There is provided an electric lamp package comprising a lamp envelope connected at one end to a lamp cap, and an elongate packaging strip folded along parallel transversal first fold lines to form a bottom wall, a front wall, and a rear wall for accommodating the lamp with its lamp cap remote from the bottom wall. The front wall and the rear wall extend above the lamp cap and engage each other. A window is provided in the front wall for displaying at least part of the lamp cap and a part of the lamp envelope, the boundary of the window engaging the lamp to hold the same in place. A pair of lengthwise incisions are formed in the rear wall and extend beyond the lamp cap to provide two edge portions in opposite lateral edge-wise contact with the lamp envelope, the respective edge portions being secured to the front wall.

  • Patent number: 4385694
Abstract: There is provided an electric lamp package comprising a lamp envelope formed with a convex portion and having a packaging strip extending therearound with its ends engaging each other substantially flatly beyond the lamp cap. One long side of the packaging strip is formed with a pair of lengthwise incisions to form a central portion in contact with the convex portion of the lamp envelope and a pair of edge portions extending along the central portion and being in opposite lateral contact with the lamp envelope. The lamp is arranged asymmetrically with respect to such two edge portions with the lamp cap positioned between the central portion and the flatly engaged ends of the packaging strip. A lengthwise extending opening is formed in the other long side for displaying part of the lamp, with a pair of adjoining edge portions. At least part of the opening boundary is in contact with the lamp envelope to keep the lamp fixed in place.
