Abstract: Monoazo compounds of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a coupling component radical,R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl; C.sub.1-6 alkyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from chloro, cyano, hydroxy, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, phenyl and phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from chloro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, carboxy, sulfo, sulfamoyl and acetamido; C.sub.5-7 cycloalkyl; C.sub.5-7 cycloalkyl substituted by 1 to 3 C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups; phenyl; phenyl substituted by 1 to 3 substituents selected from chloro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, acetamido (maximum of 1), carboxy (maximum of 1), sulfo (maximum of 1) and --SO.sub.2 NR.sub.7 R.sub.8 (maximum of 1); 1- or 2-naphthyl or 1- or 2-naphthyl substituted by sulfo,whereineach of R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 is independently hydrogen; C.sub.1-4 alkyl; C.sub.1-4 alkyl monosubstituted by hydroxy or phenyl; cyclohexyl; phenyl or phenyl monosubstituted by chloro, methyl or methoxy, or--NR.sub.7 R.sub.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which A is the radical of a sulpho group-containing diazo component of the aniline or 1- or 2-aminonaphthalene series,K is a coupling component radical of the phenol series, having a free hydroxy group or an etherified or acylated hydroxy group,R.sub.1 is hydrogen C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.1-4 haloalkyl,R.sub.2 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 alkyl-CO-, C.sub.1-6 alkyl-O-CO-, -CONH.sub.2, C.sub.1-6 alkyl-NH-CO-, di-(C.sub.1-6 alkyl)N-CO-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-hydroxy(C.sub.2-6 alkyl)-NH-CO- or (2-, 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-hydroxy(C.sub.2-6 alkyl)).sub.2 N-CO-, andR.sub.10 is hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 alkyl,and mixtures thereof, which compounds are in free acid or salt form and are useful for dyeing or printing anionic dyeable substrates such as leather, natural and synthetic polyamides, polyurethanes and polyolefins modified to contain basic groups, especially nylon.

Abstract: Disclosed are azo dyes containing, a diazo component radical of the formula ##STR1## wherein each of Z and Z.sub.1 is independently hydrogen or sulfo, with the proviso that at least one of Z and Z.sub.1 is hydrogen, for example monoazo and disazo dyes of the formula ##STR2## and salts thereof, wherein K is a coupling component radical of the aromatic carbocyclic, active methylene group-containing aliphatic or aromatic heterocyclic series, andZ and Z.sub.1 are as defined above, with the proviso that the dyes contain one or two sulfo groups, and the use thereof for the dyeing and printing of anionic dyeable substrates, particularly polyamide substrates.
