  • Publication number: 20230027978
Abstract: The disclosure describes examples of machine-learned model based techniques. A computing system may obtain patient characteristics of a patient and implant characteristics of an implant. The computing system may determine information indicative of an operational duration of the implant based on the patient characteristics and the implant characteristics and output the information indicative of the operational duration of the implant. In some examples, one or more processors may be configured to receive, with a machine-learned model of the computing system, implant characteristics of an implant to be manufactured, apply model parameters of the machine-learned model to the implant characteristics, determine information indicative of dimensions of the implant to be manufactured based on the applying of the model parameters of the machine-learned model, and output the information indicative of the dimensions of the implant to be manufactured.

  • Publication number: 20200188121
Abstract: A glenoid bone augment component is provided that includes a first side, a second side, and a body that extends between the first side and the second side. The first side is configured to be disposed away from a glenoid of a patient. The second side is configured to be placed on the glenoid. The body is configured to adjust the spacing from the glenoid of a prosthesis component coupled with the first side when the second side of the glenoid bone augment component is coupled with the glenoid. The body has one or both of a central channel and a plurality of peripheral anchor channels disposed therethrough. The channels can be configured to receive a tool for forming an opening in the glenoid. A peripheral reinforcement structure is disposed around at least one of the peripheral anchor channels of the plurality of peripheral anchor channels and/or a central reinforcement structure is disposed around the central channel.

  • Publication number: 20190175355
Abstract: The shoulder prosthesis component comprises an implantation body, which defines an implantation axis and which is designed to be received within a bone of a patient that includes a cortical bone external layer and a cancellous bone internal layer, and to compact therein the cancellous bone internal layer in a planned manner that is differentiated along and around the implantation axis depending on preoperative local bone density and quantity of the cancellous bone internal layer. A method for producing such a shoulder prosthesis component for a patient is also proposed.

  • Patent number: 7643868
Abstract: In order to establish an optimum position on the upper side of the tibia for the exit point of an anterior cruciate ligament replacement, it is proposed that, with the leg bent, the position of a number of points along the front edge of the notch is detected and in this way their position and progression on the femur are also determined, that, with the leg straight, the course of this front edge of the notch is projected onto a projection plane which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tibia in the region of the upper side of the tibia, and that, within the region enclosed by this projected curve, the exit point is selected such that it maintains at least a distance corresponding to the radius of the implant from the projected curve. Furthermore, an apparatus for carrying out such a method is proposed.

  • Publication number: 20060241405
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus that permit one to accurately measure range of motion of a joint for joint stability testing and other purposes. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, a marker that can be tracked by a surgical navigation system is rigidly fixed to each of the bones forming a joint and the joint is placed within the field of view of the surgical navigation system. The surgical navigation system tracks the bones in all six degrees of freedom by tracking the markers attached thereto. The navigation system can be programmed to measure and display to the surgeon all information relevant to such joint stability testing, including, but not limited to, starting position, maximum joint translation, maximum joint rotation, instantaneous joint translation, instantaneous joint rotation, and instantaneous joint flexion angle. The system may be set up to show a comparison of pre- and post-operative data.
