Patents by Inventor Francois Ignace Geinoz

Francois Ignace Geinoz has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11774186
Abstract: The invention provides a device for the inductive compression of carbon dioxide via isochoric heating. The resulting hot, supercritical or compressed carbon dioxide is suitable for driving a gas turbine with highly efficient use of the input thermal energy, for local heating and cooling applications, and for pipeline transportation to remote locations where the high enthalpy content of the gas can be harvested.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 15, 2023
Date of Patent: October 3, 2023
Inventors: Kameran Yakob, Francois Ignace Geinoz, Cueni Marcel
  • Patent number: 11719469
Abstract: The invention provides a system for energy distribution that uses liquid carbon dioxide as a working fluid. Evaporation of the carbon dioxide provides cooling, and compression of the carbon dioxide gas back to the liquid state provides heat. The amount of heat transferred at both stages is sufficient to provide environmental heating and cooling. Waste thermal energy from a power plant, in the form of hot water, is fed into the system and used to drive the overall process. An underground thermal energy storage system is used to store energy flowing into the system that is in excess of the current demand.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 8, 2023
    Assignee: M.E.D. Energy Inc.
Inventors: Francois Ignace Geinoz, Marcel Cueni, Kameran Yakob

  • Patent number: 10876057
Abstract: The invention provides a method for energy extraction from municipal and mixed waste streams. The method employs a three-stage pyrolysis to produce a hydrogen-rich pyrolysis gas, which maximizes energy extraction without releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 13, 2019

  • Publication number: 20200347305
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for the thermal transformation of waste, in particular mixed urban waste. It comprises conveyor means, housed in an enclosed space, for discharging waste into a furnace having inductively heated zones of successively higher temperatures. Gases and oils produced by pyrolysis are removed at stages of the process.
