Abstract: A method of facilitating a transaction is disclosed. The method includes generating a unique transaction identifier which is associated with a transaction to be per formed between a merchant and a user and which is embedded in a URL. The URL is displayed to a user wishing to perform a transaction via a mobile web browser. Using an application on the user's mobile device, the unique transaction identifier is extracted from the URL and transmitted to an information brokerage service. At the information brokerage service, transaction data is generated including payment information. The transaction data is transmitted to the user's mobile device or another computing device. The information brokerage service receives a transaction confirmation message from the user, and transmits payment details to a payment gateway or the merchant. A system for implementing the method is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of and system for managing a one time password security software application employed on a mobile computing device (12) are provided. The method comprises generating a command message comprising command data specifying a type of command to be performed on the one time password security application employed on the mobile computing device, and a unique identification code to identify a data record on which the command is to be performed or to identify a one time password algorithm and its associated authentication entity on which the command is to be performed. This message is transmitted by a turn key server (18) to the mobile computing device (12) for execution on the mobile computing device thereby to manage the one time password security software application.

Abstract: A method is disclosed of installing a software application, typically a security application such as a one-time password application, on a mobile computing device such as a mobile telephone or PDA. The method comprises creating an account for a user on a network, the account having user identification data including a user name, a user e-mail address and an address of a mobile computing device of the user. An invitation message is transmitted to the user, the invitation including a link to an installation web page. A deployment server supporting the installation web page receives an initial request from the user to install the software application, transmits data to the mobile computing device of the user and receives a response from the mobile computing device, from which one or more characteristics of the mobile computing device can be determined.
