  • Publication number: 20080088990
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for controlling an asynchronous electric motor for detecting cabling errors between the electric motor and its starter, used in the windings of the motor. The electric motor (M) comprises three windings (U, V, W) distributed over three branches in delta configuration and is controlled by a starter (D) comprising power semiconductors directly connected in series within the three branches of the delta configuration of the windings (U, V, W). The method comprises the following steps: application of a voltage in a first branch of the delta, after a priming delay, priming of the semiconductor of the first branch, measurement of the electrical current generated within the first branch during the priming operation, determination of the configuration of the cabling of the first branch as a function of the measured electrical current.

  • Publication number: 20080018288
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of adjusting motor parameters in a variable speed drive intended for controlling a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets M. The method comprises a step of determining the deviations ?ID and ?IQ between references and measurements of the flux current and motor torque current, a step of calculating a correction value ?RS of the stator resistance, a correction value ?L of the inductance and a correction value ?KE of the flux constant of the motor, on the basis of the integral terms of the deviations ?ID and ?IQ, a step of adjusting the values of the parameters of the motor model on the basis of ?RS, ?L and ?KE, a step of formulating the control voltages UD and UQ to be applied to the motor M by using the said adjusted values of the motor parameters.

  • Patent number: 7221117
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for correcting references (xref), in the case of flux reduction, used in a speed variator for controlling an electric motor M having a three-phase supply, for example of the synchronous or asynchronous type. This method consists, in particular, of using a dynamic system (MM) representing a model of the motor to be controlled, provided with at least one integrator (Int) and having as input the difference between a limited value of a control voltage (u) to be applied to the motor (M) and the value of a calculated reference voltage (uref).

  • Patent number: 7202629
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for adjusting motor parameters in a variable speed drive intended to control an electric induction motor M. The method includes a step for determining differences ?ID and ?IQ between motor flux current and motor torque current references and measurements, a step for calculating a correction value ?RR of the rotor resistance and a correction value ?LR of the rotor inductance from the integral terms of the differences ?ID and ?IQ, a step for adjusting values of parameters of the motor model based on ?LR and ?RR, a step for generating control voltages UD and UQ to be applied to the motor M using said adjusted motor parameter values.
