  • Patent number: 6800754
Abstract: A method for directly producing a mixture of cellulose sulfoacetate derivatives by esterification of cellulosic material, characterized in that it comprises the following steps i) the cellulosic material is suspended in a glacial acetic acid solution and the excess acetic acid is eliminated ii) the cellulosic acid that is swollen with acetic acid is suspended in a sulfuric acid solution in glacial acetic acid and iii) the cellulose material is made to react by adding acetic anhydride.

  • Patent number: 5099009
Abstract: Plant wall-rich products originating, for example, from higher plants naturally rich in pectins, algae, or from by-products, such as wheat bran, potato pulp, shells or oil works residues, and the like, are modified to contain a fraction of water-soluble polysaccharides which is higher than, in particular equal to at least twice that existing naturally, without modification of their overall chemical composition. To obtain them, water is added, if necessary to the natural product in the divided state, to form a mixture capable of undergoing a shearing treatment, and the resulting product is subjected to a shearing force before extrusion, resulting in modified products as aggregates which can be converted into powder. By means of aqueous extraction, performed directly on the extruded product, a water-soluble fraction is obtained, from which there are isolated, for example, pectins, with a degree of methylation .gtoreq.

  • Patent number: 5016767
Abstract: A boom articulation mechanism for interconnecting and displacing a pair of boom members. The mechanism comprises a connector link having a pair of opposed external boom pivot connections. Each of the booms has a pivot end connected spaced apart to a respective one of the external pivot connections. The connector link also has a pair of internal cylinder pivot connections spaced apart closer than the external pivot connections. The external boom pivot connections and the internal cylinder pivot connections are disposed on parallel axes spaced apart a distance not greater than the distance between the external boom pivot connections less the distance between the cylinder pivot connections. A first hydraulic cylinder is pivotally connected at one end to a first of the booms, and has a piston rod end connected to an associated one of the internal cylinder pivot connections.

  • Patent number: 4768662
Abstract: A hydraulic pivot device for pivotally connecting a support housing to a boom of the type secured to a vehicle. The hydraulic pivot device comprises a main housing having a gear-engaging piston which is axially displaceable in a piston cylinder provided therein. The piston has opposed piston heads and is sealingly displaced placed in the piston cylinder by fluid pressure applied at a selected one of opposed ends of the piston cylinder. The piston is also positively interlocked by the use of lock valves which are port-mounted at each end of the piston cylinder. A drive shaft having a drivable pinion gear is supported within the housing with a drivable pinion gear being in toothed engagement with a toothed section of the piston so that axial displacement of the piston wall impact axial rotation to the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4672034
Abstract: Beet pectin is crosslinked with an oxidizing system containing an oxidizing agent and an enzyme such as peroxidase that uses the oxidizing agent as a substrate. The crosslinked beet pectin is useful as a thickener or gelling agent in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.
