  • Publication number: 20100119566
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a composition comprising a vitamin, a metal ion, and a surfactant, as a therapeutic agent or disinfectant. The composition has been known as a decontaminant because the same efficiently decomposes DNA. It has now been possible to demonstrate that the agent has surprisingly good compatibility while having a wide-ranging disinfecting effect and is therefore also suitable for other purposes, e.g., for disinfecting or dressing wounds.

  • Publication number: 20090236877
Abstract: A method of constructing vehicle frames of varying lengths from a flexible modular architecture is provided. The method comprises: providing substantially identical front and rear modules, and providing middle modules with constant-section longitudinal rails that are formable to a variety of desired lengths. The components are selected by trimming or forming a first middle module to a first longitudinal length and selecting one each of the substantially identical front and rear modules. A first frame, having a first frame length, is then assembled from the formed first middle module and substantially identical front and rear modules. After forming another middle module to a second length; a second frame, having a different frame length, may then be assembled from the second formed middle module and a second pair of substantially identical front and rear modules. An assembly for constructing frames of varying lengths from a flexible modular architecture is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060003846
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for recognizing a shaft break of an actuated shaft made of plastic, in which a conductor is injected. This conductor extends essentially over the entire axial length of the shaft, whereby both its ends are connected to an electronics unit, so that upon a break of the shaft, and thus of the conductor, a current flow is interrupted and the conclusion can be drawn that the shaft has broken. According to the invention, the contacting of the conductor ends takes place via two electrically conductive rings arranged on the shaft, which rings in turn produce the contact to the electronics unit via carbon brushes arranged on sheet-metal springs.

  • Patent number: 6957641
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustment device (1) for an internal combustion engine, particularly for adjustment of shafts with adjusting members. Heretofore known open/close switches are relatively large and cost-intensive in their production. For this reason, an adjustment device (1) is proposed, in which a set of gears (5) simply comprising a worm (7) and a partial ring worm gear (8) wherein pin magnets are disposed on the partial ring worm gear. The pin magnets (11) work functionally together with a non-moving switch (16) disposed in a housing (2,3) when a signal is produced by means of the magnetic field of the magnets (11) passing by the switch (16), which stops motor (4) and, as the case may be, predetermines a direction change. Thus, a right/left movement of the motor (4), along with a timely turning off of the motor can be achieved with only one external control signal.

  • Patent number: 6924609
Abstract: The invention relates to a control device for a motor for adjusting a control unit. A motor (5) that serves for adjusting a control unit (20) is shut off in a known control device with at least one Hall switch, when the control unit (20) has achieved a desired position. In the aforementioned variant, it is proposed that the running direction of the motor (5) is determined by a signal (UH) obtained from such a Hall switch, and, if necessary, the motor (5) is prepared for reversal.

  • Patent number: 6265866
Abstract: A measuring device for determining the position of a control element, such as a throttle valve in which a temperature-resistant Hal sensor (4) cooperates with a permanent magnet (2), which is connected to the control element by a spindle (3), in order to obviate the need for a conventional mechanical potentiometer. By virtue of the Hall effect, the Hall sensor (4) produces during movement of the control element and thus of the position of the permanent magnet (2) relative to the Hall sensor (4), an output signal (Ua) that is preferably linearly proportional to the movement of the control element. The Hall sensor (4) is programmed to correct temperature, related measurement errors in the permanent magnet.
