Patent number: 10055699Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of supermarket refrigeration & HVAC control. More particularly, embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for concurrent and remote management of multiple supermarket refrigeration systems located at one or more retail sites. Embodiments may include at least one on-site computer, at least one central server, at least one user computer, one or more communication network, and one or more on-site refrigeration control systems. In embodiments, the on-site computer communicates with the on-site refrigeration control system(s), which may be the same or different, and multiple on-site computers and/or different store locations may be used. The on-site computer is capable of translating data received from these various refrigeration control systems into a single system-friendly generic format and the translated data is stored on the on-site computer. This data is intermittently copied and stored on a central server.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2010Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: Automation Creations, Inc.Inventor: Frank C. Brown

Publication number: 20160302556Abstract: A utility belt for supporting a remote control device, designed to be comfortably worn for long periods of time over other protective garments, such as fire-proof jackets or reflective vests. The harness is made of a rigid material, durable enough for use in hot, and wet environments, such as woven webbing which may also be fire resistant, of a width, sufficient to distribute the load evenly about the shoulders of the wearer, and may also have a means for attaching to a fire-resistant jacket or other type of jacket, and a releasable break-away feature for wearer safety, in case of a need to remove the controller and/or jacket rapidly. In the case of a utility belt designed to be attached to a jacket, the shoulder straps are permanently or releasably attached to a belt that is designed to be worn situated on the waist of the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2015Publication date: October 20, 2016Inventor: Frank C. Patent number: 8051668Abstract: A controller comprises a first input that receives a signal indicating an energy consumption value of a compressor, a second input that receives a signal indicating an energy consumption value of a condenser fan, and an output that provides a control signal to the condenser fan. The controller also comprises a memory that stores a condenser set point, and a processor in communication with the input, output and memory and that modulates the condenser set-point to minimize energy consumption and controls the condenser fan based on the condenser set-point.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2005Date of Patent: November 8, 2011Assignee: Emerson Retail Services, Inc.Inventors: Abtar Singh, Thomas J. Mathews, Frank C. Brown, III, Ozgur Y. Gurkan

Patent number: 7845183Abstract: A controller includes a first input that receives a signal indicating an energy consumption value of a compressor, a second input that receives a signal indicating an energy consumption value of a variable speed condenser fan, a third input that receives a signal indicating an ambient temperature, a fourth input that receives a signal indicating a condenser temperature, an output that provides a control signal to the variable speed condenser fan, a memory that stores a temperature difference set-point, and a processor in communication with the inputs, the output and the memory. The processor calculates a difference between the ambient temperature and the condenser temperature, compares the difference with the temperature difference set-point, controls the variable speed condenser fan based on the comparison, monitors the energy consumption values, and modulates the temperature difference set-point to minimize energy consumption.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2007Date of Patent: December 7, 2010Assignee: Emerson Retail Services, Inc.Inventors: Abtar Singh, Thomas J. Patent number: 5215070Abstract: A device for conveniently securing a plurality of arrows to one another for ease of transport or, alternatively, for securing additional arrows to an existing quiver. The device comprises a wafer member made of a semi-rigid but resilient material, having notches formed in the corners for engaging the shaft portion of an archer's arrow. Such devices being preferably used with one or more like devices.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1991Date of Patent: June 1, 1993Inventor: Frank C. Brown

Patent number: 5038508Abstract: A safety device for a firearm which prevents ammunition from being introduced into the chamber and provides a visible indication that the firearm is not loaded. The device incorporates a plug attached to a cable, and plug ring adapters, one being selected which corresponds to the barrel diameter. The cable is inserted into the barrel from the chamber and pulled through until the plug/plug ring combination is seated against the chamber opening. This device is held in place by the combination of a restricting means and a clamp. The restricting means can be locked in place, thereby preventing unintended removal.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1989Date of Patent: August 13, 1991Inventor: Frank C. Brown

Patent number: 4098400Abstract: A returnable packaging system provides product protection in a simplified, low cost design. The packaging system includes a conventional pallet structure having an upper surface covered by a protective sheet. A plurality of parts are layered between a plurality of trays, the trays being identical to one another. The trays preferably generally are planar, being constructed from relatively thin sheets having receptacles formed on opposed sides of the sheets. The receptacles have a silhouette designed to receive a portion of the parts carried by the trays. The bottom tray of a second part layer serves as the cover for a first part layer so that an interlocked structure results which prevents horizontal movement of the individual parts. The layered assembly is encapsulated in a heat shrinkable cover. When shrunk, the cover holds the entire system in a stable integral package condition. The cover is removed when the parts are used.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1977Date of Patent: July 4, 1978Assignee: Emerson Electric Co.Inventor: Frank C. Brown
