  • Patent number: 6919529
Abstract: A method for producing an electrical circuit between a flexible circuit board (1) is described, with single-sided access and a metallic contact partner (8), such that the contact partner (8) reaches the metallic conductor strip (4) of the circuit board (1) through an access opening (6) in the unit. The circuit board (1) is thus irradiated with laser light (9) in a region opposite the access opening (6) causing a welded connection between the contact partner (8) and the conductor strip (4) to be formed.

  • Publication number: 20030090221
Abstract: The unit includes an electro-mechanical drive (1), and an adjustment gearing (6) with a mechanical output (12) for influencing the switching positions of the distributor gearing, which is driven by the electro-mechanical drive. A circuit carrier (13) is provided, on which an electronic circuit (14) for controlling the electro-mechanical drive is realised. A sensor device (16), preferably mounted on the circuit carrier, is connected with the electronic circuit for detecting a movement of the adjustment gearing. Commutator contacts (15) for the electro-mechanical drive are preferably mounted at the circuit carrier.

  • Patent number: 6533620
Abstract: In a method for producing an electrical connection between a flexible printed-circuit board (1) and a metallic mating contact member (8), an illumination opening (5) is formed in a first insulating layer (2) and a connecting opening (6) is formed in a second insulating layer (3). A section (8a) of the metallic mating contact member (8) is brought into bearing contact with a conductor track (4) through the connecting opening (6). Welding/soldering of the conductor track (4) to the connecting section (8a) is brought about by radiant heating by means of laser light (9) directed through the illumination opening (5).

  • Patent number: 6461527
Abstract: A method for fabricating a flexible printed circuit board with access on both sides includes the steps of applying a metallic conductor track sheet to a base sheet and patterning the metallic conductor track sheet in order to produce conductor tracks. A conductor track covering with first contact-making cutouts is applied over the conductor tracks. Second contact-making cutouts are produced in the base sheet material by locally removing the base sheet through the use of laser irradiation. As an alternative, the first contact-making cutouts as well as the second contact-making cutouts can be produced by removing material with a laser.

  • Patent number: 6350953
Abstract: A method for potting a populated assembly using an anti-vibration potting compound, a populated assembly and a controller having a populated assembly, include a circuit configuration potted by using an anti-vibration, thixotropic embedding compound. The circuit configuration includes a baseplate, an electrical circuit mounted thereon and having electrical components, and a flexible printed circuit board passing through to the circuit and making electrical contact with the circuit through lead wires. The components on one hand, and the contact points for the lead wires on the flexible printed circuit board on the other hand, are potted by using the embedding compound in separate process steps.

  • Patent number: 6300566
Abstract: An electrical connection configuration connects a circuit carrier to conductor tracks of a conductor-track carrier. Both the circuit carrier and the conductor-track carrier are carried by a base plate. The circuit carrier and the conductor-track carrier have a region in which they overlap and in which they are connected by an electrically conductive adhesive.

  • Patent number: 6239370
Abstract: An electrical line penetration through a housing wall made of plastic has electrical traces embedded in a flexible conductor. The electrical traces of the flexible conductor have electrical contact points on both sides of the housing wall. The flexible circuit is injection-molded into the housing wall. In the production of the sealed electrical line penetration, a flexible film with an electrical trace is clamped in, on the outer side of the housing to be injection-molded and the inner side of the housing to be injection-molded respectively, between two halves of an injection mold.

  • Patent number: 6219247
Abstract: A control unit for a motor vehicle has a base plate with press-fit openings. A conductor track carrier is mounted on the base plate. The conductor-track carrier has electrical contacting tabs in the area of the press-fit openings. An electrical contact pin that projects from a supporting body is inserted into a press-fit opening in the base plate and there contacts the contacting tab. By virtue of a reserve of material which is reduced (used) as the contact pin is pressed in, the contacting tab is anchored in the press-fit opening in an essentially tension-less manner.

  • Patent number: 6160708
Abstract: A control unit for a motor vehicle has a base plate, a conductor track substrate, an electronic circuit making contact with the conductor track substrate, and a housing cover. A contacting panel with integrally constructed press-in openings adjoins the base plate. Projecting from a support body that overlaps the contacting panel are conductor ends which protrude into the press-in openings and make electric contact there with the conductor track substrate.

  • Patent number: RE39272
Abstract: A controller for a motor vehicle has a base plate, a conductor track substrate fitted on the base plate, an electronic circuit and a housing cover which is connected to the base plate in a contact region and is made of plastic. The housing cover furthermore encases electrical conductors. One conductor end of an electrical conductor projects out of the housing cover in a contact region and projects into an opening in the base plate, by which an electrical connection is produced with the conductor track substrate.
