  • Patent number: 6471114
Abstract: Torch tip for a torch, the tip adapted to be in fluid communication with a fuel gas and oxygen source for generating a flame, the torch tip including a tubular or substantially tubular body having a plurality of flame emitting spaced orifices, wherein the tubular body preferably is substantially U-shaped and includes a pair of spaced substantially parallel elongated legs. The torch tip can be used to simultaneously heat a plurality of closely spaced pipes for ease of removal or attachment to an object such as a reversing valve.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 7, 2001
Date of Patent: October 29, 2002
    Assignee: Uniweld Products, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6467703
Abstract: Torch tip for a torch, said tip adapted to be in fluid communication with a fuel gas and oxygen source for generating a flame, the torch tip including a tubular or substantially tubular body having a plurality of spaced orifices therein, at least one of the orifices being formed in a planar surface so as to allow the formation of a circular orifice therein, the orifice thereby emitting, in operation, a stable and even flame. In a preferred embodiment, all of the orifices are so formed, and direct a flame towards a common point.

  • Patent number: 6102062
Abstract: A quick connect/disconnect coupler having a slidable piston to connect and disconnect to a standard fitting or coupling attached to suitable tubing. The coupling is slidably received by the coupler and locked in place by the piston. In the locked position, the coupling depresses a valve pin in the piston which opens a passageway in the coupler. At the same time, a depressor in the coupler depresses a valve stem in the coupling, thereby allowing bi-directional gas flow to the device being serviced from the service apparatus, or vice versa. A method of charging or discharging refrigeration apparatus with said coupler is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5533891
Abstract: An automatic locking pressure regulator or valve for a fuel tank. The regulator or valve includes locking means which prevent loosening of the regulator or valve from a standard fuel cylinder valve outlet connection. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the locking mechanism is coupled to the base of the regulator or valve, and protrudes into the threads on the standard fitting on the fuel cylinder to prevent one-way rotation of the pressure regulator or valve.

  • Patent number: 5470226
Abstract: A fuel combuster such as a torch tip, having means fixed ignition means and means for encapsulating the same. The combustion device comprises a metallic elongated tube having a forward section terminating in a front end, a middle section and a rearward section, the middle section communicating at its respective ends with the forward section and the rearward section. The rearward section is adapted, suitably at its rearward end, for connection to a source of combustible gas, and is suitably provided with axially positioned fuel jet means for injecting combustible gas into the tube and with apertures for intake of combustion supporting gas to be mixed with the combustible gas. A spring-loaded piezo crystal is affixed to the middle portion and is activated by grasping a cap assembly encapsulating the piezo crystal and applying a downward force thereto. The device can be ignited regardless of the orientation of the torch tip on the gas supply source.

  • Patent number: 4347961
Abstract: A rotary power transfer component incorporated in the rotary to reciprocating motion conversion drive mechanism which operates the reciprocating feeder of a multiple slide machine increases the time available to the forming operation by correspondingly decreasing the feed time of the wire or ribbon stock during each cycle. The rotary power transfer component comprises a drive wheel and crank wheel mounted for respective eccentric rotation. The drive wheel, which is driven at a uniform rate of rotation synchronized to the forming operation of the machine, has an eccentric fixed pin which engages a radial slot in the crank wheel to thereby impart to the latter a synchronized cycle with varying speed of rotation within the cycle to be converted to a rapid advance feed stroke and a slow return stroke for the reciprocating drive of the feeder during which return stroke the forming operations are performed.
