  • Publication number: 20230311182
Abstract: A flatness-measuring device for a hot-rolled strip within a hot-rolling mill includes an entry-side deflection roller and an exit-side deflection roller. A central deflection roller is arranged between the entry-side deflection roller and the exit-side deflection roller. The central deflection roller is used as a flatness-measuring roller. To prevent the hot-rolled strip from departing laterally during a flatness measurement, the flatness-measuring device has a sensing apparatus for sensing an actual position of the hot-rolled strip. An adjusting apparatus is connected to the sensing apparatus and to at least one of the deflection rollers. The flatness-measuring device is designed to vary an angle between a longitudinal central axis of the deflection roller respectively connected to the adjusting apparatus and a longitudinal axis of the flatness-measuring device based on a deviation of the actual position of the hot-rolled strip from a predefined target position.

  • Publication number: 20220347730
Abstract: A flatness measuring apparatus for measuring the flatness of a metallic strip, including a measuring roller which has a roller axis and which makes contact with the strip for the measuring the flatness. The measuring roller is connected to a cooling system, using which the measuring roller can be cooled. To ensure that a high degree of measuring accuracy can be maintained even at high temperatures, the cooling system has a nozzle bar that extends parallel to the roller axis. At least one spray nozzle is arranged on the nozzle bar, using which cooling medium can be sprayed on the surface of the measuring roller in a spraying direction. The spraying direction meets a surface section of the measuring roller, and the angle between the spraying direction and the tangent on the measuring roller at the location of the surface section is less than 30°.

  • Publication number: 20070199577
Abstract: A method for removing liquids from the surface of a strip, characterized in that the liquid is excited in such a way that it oscillates. The invention is based on the recognition that the root of the problem of removing liquids from the surface of a strip lies in the adhesion forces and that these adhesion forces can be overcome by exciting the liquid in such a way that it oscillates. Its oscillation causes the liquid to detach itself from the surface of the strip and it can then be easily carried away, for example by suction by means of low pressure, blowing or stripping by means of a stripper.

  • Patent number: 6840475
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for the rolling or winding of strip having an equal thickness over the strip width, in which the tension in a strip length portion limited by rolls, winders, or control, guide or deflecting rollers is measured by means of a measuring roller. In order, in this case, to obtain more accurate measurement values and keep disturbing stresses away from the measuring point, between the measuring roller and an assembly (roll, winder, or control, guide or deflecting roller) causing disturbing stresses in the strip, a partitioning device for absorbing the disturbing stresses is arranged.

  • Patent number: 5987948
Abstract: In a process for presetting the adjusting-member positions of a roll stand upon the rolling of a new coil or for the next pass in each case during cold rolling of bands, adjusting-member positions for the band flatness are used that are based on the corresponding actual data of the first pass of a reference coil, whose reference data results in the best correspondence with the target data of the new coil, or on the actual data of the preceding pass. At the same time, the band thickness can be preset by the specification of a rolling force or adjustment position adapted over a certain time period from the actual data of reference conditions of the roll stand or the rolling mill train.
