  • Publication number: 20240110473
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to systems, methods, and computer-readable media for identifying a wellbore pressure based on a predicted pump intake loss. A pump intake pressure after an intake for a submersible pump deployed downhole in a wellbore is identified. An intake loss prediction model for identifying a virtual intake loss associated with the intake for the submersible pump as a function of one or more intake loss parameters is accessed. The virtual intake loss is identified by applying the intake loss prediction model based on intake loss prediction input of the one or more intake loss parameters. A pump intake pressure before the intake for the submersible pump is determined based on the virtual intake loss and the identified pump intake pressure after the intake.

  • Publication number: 20170097298
Abstract: An electronic imaging flow-microscope for remote environmental sensing, bioreactor process monitoring, and optical microscopic tomography applications is described. A fluid conduit has a port on each end of a thin flat transparent fluid transport region. A planar illumination surface contacts one flat side of the transparent fluid transport region and a planar image sensing surface contacts the other flat side. Light from the illumination surface travels through the transparent fluid transport region to the planar image sensing surface, producing a light field affected by the fluid and objects present. The planar image sensing surface creates electrical image signals responsive to the light field. The planar illumination surface can be light emitting elements such as LEDs, OLEDs, or OLET whose illumination can be sequenced in an image formation process. The flow microscope can further comprise flow-restricting valves, pumps, energy harvesting arrangements, and power management.

Abstract: A type of water soluble foam fire extinguishing composite material includes a foaming agent, sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate (DBN), and water. Said sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate (DBN) is a replacement for halogenated hydrocarbons, and exerts an extremely great effect on cooling and control of the intensity of a fire; because it has almost no effect on ozone in the stratosphere, it will not worsen global warming.

  • Publication number: 20070208608
Abstract: A system that enables users to generate and manage forecasts through an integrated software tool. Forecast administrators are enabled to create forecast series data that define a forecast's structure and provide search criteria that is used in generating forecasts. These data also define who may participate in creating forecasts, and their relative position in an organization's hierarchy. Users are also enabled to enter a variety of forecast data that are stored by the system. Various forecast data are then retrieved corresponding to the user, applicable subordinates, and parameters defined by the forecast series. Users may then fine-tune their forecasts and submit their forecasts to their managers. The managers are enabled to adjust and roll up their subordinate's forecasts to produce their own forecasts. This process may be recursively applied while moving up through various layers of management defined by the organization's hierarchy.

  • Publication number: 20070147460
Abstract: A wafer-level device fabrication process forms standing structures around emitting areas of multiple VCSELs. The standing structures can be shaped to hold ball lenses or other optical elements for respective VCSELs or can include platforms on which optical elements are formed. Ball lenses that are attached to the standing structures either during chip-level or wafer-level processes fit into the standing structures and are automatically aligned. Wafer level fabrication of optical elements can align the optical elements with accuracies associated with photolithographic processes. The optical elements can be formed using a molding or replication process, a printing method, or surface tension during a reflow of lithographically formed regions.

  • Patent number: 6819697
Abstract: Systems and methods of passivating planar index-guided oxide vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELS) are described. These systems and methods address the unique susceptibility of these devices to damage that otherwise might be caused by moisture intrusion into the etch holes that are used to form the index-guiding confinement regions. In one aspect, the invention features a VCSEL that includes a vertical stack structure having a substantially planar top surface. The vertical stack structure includes a top mirror, a bottom mirror, and a cavity region that is disposed between the top mirror and the bottom mirror and includes an active light generation region. At least one of the top mirror and the bottom mirror has a layer with a peripheral region that is oxidized into an electrical insulator. The vertical stack structure defines an etched hole that extends from the substantially planar top surface to the oxidized peripheral region.
