  • Patent number: 6357989
Abstract: A device and method for lifting an aircraft wheel assembly. The device comprises first and second wheel-engaging supports connectable to a bearing structure and rotatable relative to one another between open and wheel-cradling configurations, the device further comprising an actuator connected to the bearing structure to enable raising or lowering of the supports relative to the ground when in the wheel-cradling configuration.

  • Patent number: 5511926
Abstract: A self-propelled dolly for the movement of aircraft. The dolly includes a pair of laterally spaced apart first ground-engaging wheels. Each wheel is mounted about a portion of a split first axle mounted in a corresponding pair of spaced apart parallel members of a bifurcated chassis portion. The dolly also includes one or more second ground-engaging wheels that are mounted on a second chassis portion pivotally connected to the bifurcated chassis portion about a substantially vertical axis. The second ground-engaging wheels provide steering ability to the dolly and a handle extending from the second chassis portion permits an operator to control the dolly. A motor and drive train is operatively connected to at least one of the ground-engaging wheels. The bifurcated chassis portion is formed in two sections pivotally connected together about a lateral pivot axis at an intermediate location between the first and second wheels.

  • Patent number: 4473342
Abstract: A peristaltic pumping device comprises a cartridge which is releasably engagable in a circular socket of a peristaltic pump. The cartridge has a carrier having an annular series of peripheral rollers, the carrier being rotated by an output rotary assembly of the pump through a drive shaft. A plurality of tubes are located to pass through the cartridge in engagement with the rollers which effect pumping of liquids through the tubes by compression of successive parts of the tubes by the rollers as the carrier rotates thereby inducing the liquid flows therethrough by peristaltic action.

  • Patent number: 4178138
Abstract: A cartridge for a peristaltic pump comprises two parts having a frusto-conical bore extending through the two parts and a dovetail section groove encircling the bore at the joint between the two parts. A liquid carrying tube extends into the cartridge and has a convolution encircling the bore. The tube has an integral dovetail section rib extending along the length thereof which engages in the dovetail section groove encircling the bore to locate the tube in the bore. The cartridge is used with a pump having a rotor with one or more rollers mounted eccentrically thereon to rotate about axes convergent with the rotor axis. The rollers compress and flatten the tube where they engage it so that as the rollers rotate around the bore in the cartridge, liquid in the tube is displaced along the tube in a continuous flow.
