  • Patent number: 7912238
Abstract: A speaker attenuation system includes an attenuating member comprised of suitable material and having a size and a shape capable of attenuating a speaker when positioned in a central beam region of the speaker. A positioning mechanism is capable of positioning the attenuating member predominantly in the central beam region of the speaker in such a manner that it is between the speaker and an audience in a performance setting. The suitable material, such as open cell foam (i.e., acoustic foam), preferably has a property that it is capable, at one or more thicknesses, of reducing amplitudes of a majority of frequencies between one-thousand and eight-thousand Hertz by at least six decibels without reducing amplitudes of any frequencies in that range by more than eighteen decibels. Accordingly, the “beaminess” of the speaker can be reduced without creating a “hole in the sound.

  • Patent number: 7838752
Abstract: A guitar bridge includes bridge plate having a slot-shaped aperture formed therein. A saddle holder attached to an upper surface of said bridge plate supports a post-shaped saddle. A sustain block having a bore formed therethrough is joined to said bridge plate in a position that aligns the bore with the slot shaped aperture. The guitar bridge is configured to support a guitar string such that a string anchor passes through the bore of the sustain block and rests against the bridge plate without the guitar string contacting any surface of the bridge plate or the saddle holder.

  • Publication number: 20090211839
Abstract: A speaker attenuation system includes a foam attenuating member attached to a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is configured for attachment to a baffle board of a speaker cabinet and the foam attenuating member is configured to be positioned in a central beam region of a speaker of the speaker cabinet when the mounting bracket is attached to the baffle board.

  • Patent number: 7488878
Abstract: A guitar bridge including a bridge plate attached to a guitar body and a sustain block attached to the bridge plate is provided. The sustain block is positioned within a cavity of the guitar body. The position of the bridge plate may be fixed relative to the guitar body. The sustain block may have a positioning screw for contacting a sidewall of the cavity. A position of the bridge plate and sustain block may be controlled by the positioning screw.

  • Publication number: 20080247583
Abstract: A speaker attenuation system includes an attenuating member comprised primarily of open cell foam or other suitable material and having a size and a shape operable to attenuate a speaker when positioned in a central beam region of the speaker. A positioning mechanism positions the attenuating member predominantly in the central beam region of the speaker by attaching the attenuating member to the speaker.

  • Patent number: 6376761
Abstract: A modular amplification system consisting of a plurality of pre-amplifying modules for allowing a user to select at will, a particular module as desired. The modular amplification system includes a chassis which houses a power supply for supplying low and high voltages to each of the pre-amplifying modules, support circuitry and interconnections for accessing the audio and control signals as required. Additionally, each of the pre-amplifying modules is designed, so that it contains the circuitry required for proper amplification of various musical instruments. The pre-amplifying module is selected from a vacuum tube amplifier, an analog and/or digital solid state amplifier, and analog or digital signal processing unit. The pre-amplifying module is then inserted into the chassis by an edge connector and suitable bolts which allows ease of installation and removal. Any combination of different pre-amplifying modules may be used which can then be selected by a user.

  • Patent number: 5700966
Abstract: A miniature bank of switches is affixed directly to the musical instrument where it is easy to access during a live performance. The instrument-mounted unit produces an encoded signal representing the pattern and sequence of switch buttons depressed. This encoded signal is radiated, via UHF or infrared, to the remotely located musical instrument switching circuit. The switching circuit may be rack-mounted along with the effects devices which it controls. The switching unit receives the radiated signals and produces the corresponding MIDI protocol signals to control modern day MIDI effects devices, or alternatively produces signals which simulate ON/OFF wired foot switches to control effects of vintage amplifier equipment.
