  • Patent number: 6925092
Abstract: A communication station and communication method for effectively multiplexing data into a combined data stream by adding a special header to the combined data packet. The bit positions of this special header indicate the presence of data packets in a data stream in a combined data packer. The combined data packet is transmitted from the first to the second communication station through a first communication channel. Changes in the data streams can be communicated to the receiving communication station through a second communication channel, so that the second communication station can restore relations between data streams and recreate stripped headers.

  • Patent number: 6810033
Abstract: In a communication network, a first terminal is arranged for communication with a second terminal via a packet switched network. The first terminal is connected via a first gateway to the packet switched network, and the second terminal is connected via a second gateway to the packet switched network. If the second gateway is connected via a dial up connection over a public telephone network, the second gateway (24) may not be connected to the packet switched network resulting in a failure when the second terminal attempts to contact the second terminal via the packet switched network. To avoid this situation, the first gateway is arranged for dialing the second gateway directly via the public telephone network and requesting that the second gateway connect to the packet switched network. After the second gateway connects to the packet switched network, the first terminal can connect the second terminal via the packet switched network.

  • Patent number: 6643283
Abstract: A communication network including a first terminal is disclosed that is arranged for communication with a second terminal via a packet switched network. The first terminal is connected via a first gateway to the packet switched network, and the second terminal is connected via a second gateway to the packet switched network. The first gateway is arranged to receiving information from the second terminal that is to be connected without answering the call of the first terminal. This prevents calling costs from being incurred when transferring the information of the terminal to be called. The gateways may wait in answering the call of the first terminal until the second terminal has answered the call.
