  • Publication number: 20170079412
Abstract: A side access back pack design is proposed which is fully mechanized. Through a user trigger, a vital portion of the storage compartment mechanically moves out, pivots and linearly traverses towards the front and side of the user. The storage compartment is designed to carry critical equipment that a user wishes to access quickly without a need to unshoulder the back pack and access it in non-wear mode which has several disadvantages, including inconvenience and loss of time. After use of the critically accessed equipment, again on user trigger, the storage compartment retracts and folds itself within the contours of a regular backpack.

  • Patent number: 8556666
Abstract: An electrical contact includes a pair of prongs that extend from a base of the electrical contact spaced apart by a gap disposed therebetween. The gap is configured to receive a mating electrical contact that mechanically and electrically communicates with the pair of prongs. A plane defined along respective exterior surfaces of the pair of prongs is such that a portion of one prong of the pair of prongs is bisected by the plane. A method of making an electrical contact includes a step of stamping out a piece from a sheet of electrically-conducting material and another step of folding one or more portions of the piece to at least produce the pair of prongs of the electrical contact spaced apart by the gap. An electrical assembly includes a printed circuit board and at least one electrical contact that contains the pair of prongs.

  • Patent number: 6102076
Abstract: An exhaust pipe cover that can be placed over the exhaust pipe of a truck or other vehicle that has a vertically oriented exhaust pipe. The purpose of the exhaust pipe cover is to prevent precipitation and dirt from entering into the exhaust pipe during the time that the truck or other vehicle is not being used. The exhaust pipe cover is to utilize a main section which has one end closed and the opposite end open which is to be placeable over the exhaust pipe. This main section can be shortened for shorter length exhaust pipes. This main section can be attached to an extension for longer exhaust pipes. The extension can be shortened by a longitudinally operated drawstring arrangement mounted within the extension so as to customize the cover to precisely the length of exhaust pipes on which it is being used.

  • Patent number: 4180054
Abstract: A device and method for extending the burning time of wax synthetic logs and for reducing the amount of smoke, odor and residue. The device comprises a sloping tray having a lower edge facing the front of the fireplace and an upper edge toward the rear of the fireplace, a first upper flange along the upper edge of the tray to deflect air around toward the ends and front of the log, and a second lower flange along the lower edge of the tray. A log is placed on the sloping tray with its axis parallel to the flange, and ignited in the normal manner. The second flange, in addition to preventing the log from rolling forward, defines a region into which molten wax from the combustion of the log flows to form a reservoir and provides an air space above the surface of the molten wax such that air deflected by the first flange enters the air space to promote burning along the front and top portions of the log. A lip on the lower flange further defines the reservoir and air space.
