  • Publication number: 20070154671
Abstract: A decorative dry paint wall film includes a layer of dry paint, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on one side of the dry paint layer, and a release liner in releasable contact with the dry paint layer on a side opposite from the pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). The release liner has a matte release coat layer that contacts the dry paint layer. The release liner is released from the dry paint layer after the PSA side is attached to a wall. The matte release coat transfers a matte finish to the dry paint layer when the release liner is removed. The wall film includes a barrier layer to protect against significant discoloration of the color in the dry paint layer caused by migration of azo-type pigments from a painted wall surface. The barrier layer in one embodiment comprises a dry emulsion containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol and a dispersed polymeric material which in one embodiment comprises a urethane material.

  • Patent number: 7106566
Abstract: An integrated circuit (IC) has logic and timing circuits that are coupled to discrete circuitry to provide protection and indications whenever an AC adapter that is faulty or has improper voltage levels or polarity are plugged into a system. In particular, the IC device provides over-voltage, under-voltage, and reversed-polarity protections to an electronic system to keep the electronic system from being damaged by an alternating current (AC) adapter having an improper voltage range or voltage polarity. It also provides a protection that prevents an adapter from powering a host system that has a short-circuit fault.

  • Publication number: 20050147811
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive article which can be used as a layer in or a cover for various articles in which a hydrophilic or hydrophobic surface is desired. The adhesive article includes a base layer having a first surface and a second surface and a coating layer formed on the first surface of the base layer, where the coating layer contains at least one adhesive resin and at least one hydrophilic polymer; at least one adhesive resin (which can be a hydrophobic polymer) and at least one surfactant; or at least one adhesive resin, at least one hydrophilic polymer and at least one surfactant. Given the application, the coating layer can be formulated to provide either a hydrophilic or hydrophobic surface. The polymer portion of the coating provides the coating layer with sufficient hydrophilic properties to increase the rate fluid transport across (or in the area near) the coating layer.

  • Publication number: 20050100677
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a multilayer silicone release surface comprising a backing, a support layer on the backing, and a silicone layer of the support layer. The various layers of the multilayer release surface are deposited substantially simultaneously, as for example by a dual die or using curtain coating techniques.

  • Patent number: 6786679
Abstract: An offshore well platform is towed in an upright condition to a well site by the use of a temporary flotation device. The flotation device mounts to a portion of the platform and is partially submerged, increasing the ability and buoyancy of the platform. At the site, the engagement of the flotation device shifts to a deploying position. In the deploying position, the ballast of the platform is increased to cause it to more deeply submerge. The flotation device remains at least partially surrounding the platform and floating while the platform moves downwardly relative to it. This provides lateral support if needed to prevent heeling while being submerged. The flotation device is disengageable from the platform when the platform is fully submerged.
