Patent number: 10516221Abstract: A Kelvin connector assembly is provided that includes a body assembly, a first tab and a second tab. The body assembly comprises a first electrical contact surface electrically isolated from an opposing second electrical contact surface. The body assembly defines a central opening extending through the first electrical contact surface and the second electrical contact surface that is dimensioned to receive a battery post. The first tab, which is electrically connected with the first electrical contact surface, extends from the body assembly and is configured to couple with a first quick-connect connector. The second tab, which is electrically connected with the second electrical contact surface, extends from the body assembly and is configured to couple with a second quick-connect connector.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2018Date of Patent: December 24, 2019Assignee: Franklin Grid Solutions, LLCInventors: Kenneth A. Albrecht, Frank X. Garcia, Vijay Matlapudi, Patrick K. Loewe

Patent number: 5682385Abstract: A system for use by a multiplexing telecommunications interface that allows the interface to communicate with a larger variety of digital subscriber loop protocols, such as ISDN. For example, a remote terminal may include common equipment that allocates a limited bandwidth to particular channel cards. Such channel cards control the flow of information between a digital subscriber loop and a digital transmission facility. If the bandwidth allocated to a particular channel card is insufficient, a provisioning channel card may be used which will signal the common equipment that it exists and should be allocated to a bandwidth. However, the provisioning channel card will effectively provide its bandwidth to at least one other channel card, which will use the additional bandwidth to meet the requirements of a particular protocol, such as ISDN.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1995Date of Patent: October 28, 1997Assignee: Teltrend Inc.Inventors: Frank X. Patent number: 5566239Abstract: A digital loop carrier system that more conveniently passes a flash-hook signal while still allowing open-switching-intervals (loop current feed open intervals) with a floating ground central office switch interface. The carrier system includes both an office loop and a customer loop. The interface includes both an office loop switch and controller. The controller regulates the operation of the switch and also regulates whether the customer loop should be open or closed. When the office loop is not grounded, but current was detected by the controller in the office loop prior to the controller opening the office loop, the controller waits a predetermined interval after opening the office loop before opening the customer loop and terminating the call.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1994Date of Patent: October 15, 1996Assignee: Teltrend, Inc.Inventors: Frank X. Patent number: 5422950Abstract: An automatic loss compensation for use in a two to four wire hybrid converter in a telephone system. Many hybrid converters provide a substantially fixed gain for receive signals that are provided to the customer loop telephone line and for transmit signals that are provided to the digital carrier transmission line. The compensation circuit includes a measurement circuit, controller, and receive and transmit amplifier. The measurement circuit determines the length of the customer loop telephone line and provides a length signal. The controller receives the length signal and categorizes the length as being within one of a plurality of segments. The controller appropriately varies the amplification and phase of the receive signal, which is then combined with an inverted transmit signal, in order to substantially reduce reflected signals from the transmission line and transmission line termination.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1994Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Assignee: Teltrend Inc.Inventors: Bruce R. Miller, Frank X. Garcia

Patent number: 5357569Abstract: A two to four wire hybrid converter for use in a telephone system that allows other telephone equipment, such as a caller identification device, to more readily decipher signals. The converter controls noise by using a digital to analog converter, hybrid circuit, interface circuit, and controller. The digital to analog converter accepts a receive digital data signal from a transmission line and converts it to a receive analog signal. The hybrid circuit accepts the receive analog signal and provides it to the customer telephone line, as well as accepting a transmit telephone analog signal from the customer telephone line. Such transmit telephone analog signals are then converted to digital signals and provided to the carrier transmission lines. The hybrid circuit includes an inverter, variable amplifiers, and summing circuit. The inverter inverts the transmit telephone analog signal with respect to the receive analog signal.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1993Date of Patent: October 18, 1994Assignee: Teltrend Inc.Inventors: Frank X. Patent number: 5347544Abstract: A compensation circuit for adjusting the gain or loss of a four to two wire hybrid circuit in a telephone system automatically, regardless of the length of the telephone line interconnected to the hybrid circuit. The compensation circuit includes a converter, interface, gate array, and controller. The converter, which includes an amplifier with a variable gain, is connected to a digital carrier transmission line. The converter accepts a digital data signal and converts it to an analog intermediate signal. The interface receives the analog intermediate signal and transmits an analog telephone signal, along a customer loop telephone line, to a telephone. The interface also includes a pulse width modulated power converter for which the pulse width varies according to the length of the telephone line between the compensation circuit and the telephone. The gate array senses the pulse width and responsively provides a measured signal to the controller.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1993Date of Patent: September 13, 1994Assignee: Teltrend Inc.Inventors: Frank X. Patent number: 5224149Abstract: A testing system for digital transmission lines with a metallic loopback and direct current bypass for use with regenerative repeaters. The Bell telephone network typically includes transmit and receive lines interconnected to a central office. Regenerative repeaters positioned along the lines detect signals and regenerate new signals. The present invention includes a controller, loopback line, and bypass. The loopback line interconnects the transmit and receive lines upon receiving a test activation signal from the controller. The bypass allows direct current to pass through to the rest of the line during a test. Accordingly, when a test of the telephone lines is to be performed, lines will allow the test signal to loop back to the source of origin, but will block the loopback of DC power signals. Moreover, DC power is supplied to the rest of the transmission line, in the same manner as when the testing procedure is not occurring.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1992Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Assignee: Teltrend, Inc.Inventor: Frank X.
