  • Patent number: 12000398
Abstract: A volume ratio control system for a compressor includes a chamber formed within a housing of the compressor, a piston disposed within the chamber, where the piston is configured to separate the chamber into at least a first portion fluidly coupled to a low pressure side of the compressor and a second portion fluidly coupled to a high pressure side of the compressor, and a biasing device disposed within the chamber, where the biasing device is configured to adjust a position of the piston in response to a pressure differential between the low pressure side of the compressor and the high pressure side of the compressor falling below a threshold value.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 4, 2024
Assignee: TYCO FIRE & SECURITY GMBH
Inventors: Paul Nemit, Jr., Angela Marie Comstock, Franklin Aaron Montejo
  • Patent number: 12000399
Abstract: A volume ratio control system for a compressor includes a chamber formed within a housing of the compressor, where the chamber is in fluid communication with a high pressure side of the compressor, a piston disposed within the chamber, where the piston includes a cavity in fluid communication with a low pressure side of the compressor, and a biasing device disposed within the chamber and configured to enable movement of the piston in response to a pressure differential between the low pressure side of the compressor and the high pressure side of the compressor falling below a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 11971035
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a compressor having a first rotor and a second rotor disposed within a housing, where the first rotor is configured to rotate about a first axis of the housing and the second rotor is configured to rotate about a second axis of the housing. The first rotor and the second rotor engage with one another such that rotation of the first rotor and the second rotor pressurizes a vapor within the housing. The compressor includes an end plate coupled to a discharge end of the housing, where the end plate includes a variable opening configured to discharge a flow of the vapor from the housing. The end plate also includes a first movable member and a second movable member that are configured to increase or decrease a cross-sectional area of the variable opening to adjust the flow of the vapor.
