  • Patent number: 6401340
Abstract: A tubing cutter for cutting thin walled metallic tubing of the type used for electrical conduit. The tubing cutter is of the type which supports the tubing being cut between a roller or rollers and an oppositely disposed rotary cutting wheel of a given radius located within the head of the cutter, the cutter being rotated around the tubing to cause the cutting wheel to cut into and through the wall of the tubing. The cutter is prevented from cutting all the way through the wall of thin walled metallic tubing by means of a depth gage stop member which contacts the tubing to terminate cutting. The depth gage stop member can be stationary or rotary, and is comprised of a pair of legs or rollers placed on each side of the rotary cutting wheel. The length of the legs or the radius of the rollers are less than the radius of the rotary cutting wheel by a distance that represents less than the wall thickness of the tubing to be cut.

  • Patent number: 6250228
Abstract: A shotgun casing tube supporting a metal butt end connected containment cup, mounted to the casing tube outer wall, supporting an eject disc, supporting in a percussion cap centrally locate by crimp within a port. A multi-slot fingered antifriction cup is fitted into the casing cup with its floor resting on a powder filled basin at bottom of casing tube. A compressible compression rod conforming to the remaining depth of the casing tube is bonded central to a compression rod base plate, sitting on the floor of the antifriction disc inside a steel shot casing fill sealed in by crimping over extended casing tube end, ready for firing. Another embodiment fill of the shotgun cartridge includes a multi-fingered compressible compression cup bonded to the internal wall of the antifriction cup fingers, matching finger to finger bond. Another embodiment fill includes a tracer powder filled tracer tube, beveled at the leading end open port.

  • Patent number: 5649521
Abstract: A crossbow for shooting projectiles includes a frame with flexible bow arms and a bowstring connecting the arms, a trigger assembly for retaining the bowstring in a cocked position and releasing to propel the projectile, and a hollow barrel with interior rifling into which projectiles are loaded and through which they are expelled. A firing bolt is connected to the bowstring and located in the barrel to transfer force from the bowstring to the projectile. In the prior art, such firing bolts contact the barrel interior, resulting in friction and wear of the rifling. In this invention, the barrel includes an elongated slot (317) therealong. The firing bolt (324) is slidably supported on rails (329) on the exterior of the barrel. The firing bolt includes a driving member (338, 327) which extends through the slot to contact the projectile, but does not contact the barrel interior walls, thus propelling the projectile without causing friction and wear within the barrel.

  • Patent number: 5437260
Abstract: A cross bow includes a main string, a support engaged with and supporting a bow, a triggering device for cocking and firing the bow, a loading string attached to the bow and a hook device attached to the support and operable for receiving the loading string. The bow may be half-cocked by engaging the loading string with the hook device, and thereafter fully cocked with the main string. Another embodiment of the cross bow includes a support with two barrels therethrough, and two bows mounted on the support for separately launching projectiles such as arrows, balls, air gun pellets, or bullets, through the barrels. A magazine may be provided for each barrel to supply projectiles.
