  • Patent number: 4879898
Abstract: An apparatus for shielding and protecting an air flow rate meter from air column fluctuations arising in an intake tube from the aspirating action of an internal combustion engine is proposed. An air flow rate meter is disposed in a bypass line around the intake tube, and downstream of the air flow rate meter and in its vicinity there is a damping chamber, which communicates with the bypass line and keeps air fluctuations from affecting the air flow rate meter.

  • Patent number: 4577495
Abstract: An apparatus for shielding and protecting an air flow rate meter from air column fluctuations arising in an intake tube from the aspirating action of an internal combustion engine is proposed. The apparatus includes at least one elastic diaphragm disposed on the intake tube downstream in the vicinity of the air flow rate meter. The diaphragm divides a damping chamber communicating with the intake tube downstream of the air flow rate meter from the atmosphere and by its elasticity causes a virtually constant pressure to be maintained in the damping chamber.

  • Patent number: 4465031
Abstract: An ignition plug for an internal combustion engine, and an internal combustion engine provided therewith, has first and second ignition chamber parts communicating with one another, an electrode supported on an insulator and a mass electrode and at least one overflow passage arranged to communicate with a main combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine with an ignition chamber of the ignition plug, wherein the overflow passage is open directly into the second ignition chamber part from an end wall bounding the first ignition chamber part and is located inside an inner parallel surface of a circumferential wall of the second ignition chamber part.
