Device and a method for feeding a material web to a printing unit of a web-fed rotary printing press
Patent number: 7975608Abstract: A device is usable for feeding a material web to a press unit of a web-fed rotary press having a reel carrier which carries a material reel and which is mounted next to the machine line. At least one deflection rod is arranged in the web transport path between the reel carrier and the press unit. The deflection rod is angled at 45° with respect to the transport direction of the web which wraps onto it. In at least a wraparound angular region of the material web, the deflection rod has outlet openings which are configured as micro-openings for the passage of a pressurized fluid. The mean diameter of these micro openings is, at most 500 ?m. When the material web is moving about the deflection rod, the micro openings are provided with pressurized fluid on a length which is greater than the width of the region which is covered by the material web which wraps around it.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2007Date of Patent: July 12, 2011Assignee: Koenig & Bauer AktiengesellschaftInventors: Peter Franz Beck, Erwin Paul Josef Lehrieder -
Patent number: 7922642Abstract: A device is usable to feed at least one material web and/or at least one strand that is comprised of several material webs into a folding device. A superstructure is part of the device, as is a former that can be displaced in relation to the material web, and a transverse cutter which is usable to separate the material web or webs into individual products. At least one guide rail is provided in the superstructure and carries a retaining device that can be displaceably guided on the path of travel of the material web through the superstructure. A leading edge of at least one of the material webs can be attached to the retaining device. The guide rail passes the former and includes at least one flexible guide rail section whose form can be altered. In particular, the length of the flexible guide rail section can be adjusted in the region adjoining the former.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2006Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: Koenig & Bauer AktiengesellschaftInventors: Peter Franz Beck, Thomas Schreck

Patent number: 7387601Abstract: A device is provided which is usable to draw at least one web of material or at least one web strand, that includes several webs of material, into a folding apparatus. The folding apparatus includes at least an upper structure, at least one folding funnel and a cross cutting device for separating the web of material, which has been transported in the upper structure and folded on the folding funnel, into individual products. At least one guide rail is provided. A holding part with a guiding end of at least one web of material fixed thereto, is displaceably guided on a path of web travel of the web through the upper structure. At least one guide rail is provided along the folding funnel.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2005Date of Patent: June 17, 2008Assignee: Koenig & Bauer AktiengesellschaftInventors: Peter Franz Beck, Manfred Wolfgang Hartmann, Mathias Alexander Metz

Publication number: 20070229160Abstract: A control circuit is provided for controlling a current and/or voltage of an electronic circuit. The circuit comprises an input stage, which has at least one input, a supply voltage terminal, an amplifier element, and a subcircuit. The amplifier element comprises an operating current path and a control terminal. In the circuit, the subcircuit applies a bias to the control terminal and the input is connected to the latter. The control circuit is characterized in that the subcircuit provides a bias, which is independent of a supply voltage applied to the supply voltage terminal and of a current amplification of the amplifier element.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2007Publication date: October 4, 2007Inventor: Franz Beck

Patent number: 6079328Abstract: A securing device for a printed carrier in a printing press is actuated in case of the tearing of the printed carrier. The paper web or printed carrier can be clamped between an inflatable hose and a stationary counter clamping device. The hose has a non-operating position which is out of the path of web travel, and can be rapidly inflated to its operating position if a paper web break is sensed. An intermediate, partially inflated position can also be attained by the hose.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1999Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Koenig & Bauer AktiengesellschaftInventor: Peter Franz Beck

Patent number: 4115912Abstract: A fastening element assembly includes a fastening element having a head and an axially extending shank, a ring-shaped elastic member laterally enclosing at least an axial part of the shank, and a washer located on the shank between the elastic member and the head. The elastic member can be in contact with the surface of the shank or spaced radially outwardly from it. When using the assembly to attach an object to a support material, an opening or hole is formed in the object with the opening having a diameter approximately the same size as the outside diameter of the elastic member. The fastening element assembly is driven through the opening in the object into the support material so that the elastic member seats in the opening and spaces the shank from the object. Any transverse forces acting on the object are damped by the elastic member before they reach the shank.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1977Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventor: Franz Beck
