  • Patent number: 6315303
Abstract: A gasket is provided that is suitable for use in connection with a cylinder head. The gasket includes a first outer plate including a compensating portion, a second outer plate including a compensating portion, and a compensating plate positioned between said first and second outer plates. Preferably, at least one of said first and second outer plates includes a bead positioned outside of, and in close proximity to, said compensation portion of said plate. The compensating plate includes a compensating element and an edge portion. In a preferred embodiment, the area between the compensating portions of said first and second outer plates defines a compensating area and said compensating element is positioned within said compensating area. If desired, the gasket may also include a spacer plate.

  • Patent number: 5918912
Abstract: In an arrangement for mounting pipe end flanges to the exhaust gas passages of a cylinderhead of an internal combustion engine, the cylinderhead has pockets formed at one side of the exhaust gas passages and the pipe end flanges have projections projecting in opposite directions. One of the flange projections is received in the respective pocket while the opposite one is engaged by a guide strap holding the flange in engagement with the cylinderhead. A gasket and spring structure is disposed between the flange and the cylinderhead for controlling the engagement pressure between the flange and the cylinderhead.

  • Patent number: 5522604
Abstract: A metallic flat gasket, particularly a cylinder head gasket having at least one beaded gasket plate and a support plate surrounds at least one passage opening. On the edge of the gasket plate surrounding the passage opening is shaped a bead, which is held in indirect force closure. To this end the area of the carrier sheet supporting the free leg of the bead is thinner or thicker than the remaining area. It preferably has a topographically freely selected shape and/or different widths along the passage opening circumference. A material reinforcement is obtained in that the carrier sheet is provided with a recess and a metal ring e.g. formed by a fold or flange.

  • Patent number: 5094468
Abstract: A cylinder head gasket with at least two juxtaposed passage openings separated by a web is described and which is provided in the web area with a metallic reinforcement. The reinforcement has a cross-section tapering in the longitudinal direction of the web at least on one side. It preferably comprises a crimped sheet metal body.

  • Patent number: 4807534
Abstract: A device for ejecting ammunition containers from a war head has transverse to the war head longitudinal axis a bellows, which holds the ammunition containers in a plurality of concave pockets. The bellows is inflated by a gas generator including a gas-permeable tube extending along the longitudinal axis. In order to achieve a wide range of variations in the behavior of the ammunition containers in the process of being ejected, a propellant charge of the gas generator is particulate, with at least one ignition cord extending along the longitudinal axis of the tube around which a particle ignition mixture is arranged, so that the hot particles during burn-down of the ignition mixture are pressed between the particles of the propellant charge. A daming serves for building up the initial pressure required for the burning down of the propellant charge.

  • Patent number: 4805534
Abstract: A device for ejecting ammunition containers from a war head has, transversely to the war head longitudinal axis a bellows which accepts individual ammunition containers in concave circumferentially sparse pockets (6). The bellows is inflated by a gas-generator including a gas-permeable tube extending along the longitudinal axis. In order to achieve as wide a variation range of ejection behavior of the ammunition container as possible, the propellant charge of the gas generator is particulate and at least one ITLX ignition cord extends along the longitudinal axis of the tube, so that the hot particles during burndown of the ITLX ignition cord are pressed between the particles of the propellant charge (12). A damming serves to build up the initial pressure required for the burn-down of the propellant charge.
