  • Patent number: 5192334
Abstract: The method is used for producing a gas-tight mechanical connection between at least one prefabricated fuel cell having a fixed electrolyte disk with opposed main surfaces and anode and cathode electrodes applied to the opposed main surfaces, and a ceramic fuel cell support on which the at least one fuel cell is disposed. A nickel layer is applied to the fuel cell support by screen printing, for mechanically connecting the fuel cell to the support, for tapping current from the cathode electrode and as a current connection for an electrical connection to further fuel cells. The fuel cell is laid on the freshly printed nickel layer on the fuel cell support to form a fuel cell system. The fuel cell system is sintered with the imposition of a slight mechanical pressure upon the fuel cell, by initially performing the sintering for approximately one hour in air at a temperature of approximately 400.degree. C. and subsequently in a nitrogen atmosphere at a temperature of approximately 1150.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5171646
Abstract: A fuel cell system has a core in the form of a support having cavities passing therethrough and surfaces on which a multiplicity of fuel cells are disposed and mutually interconnected in series and in parallel by conductor tracks. The support is produced by an extrusion process. The conductor tracks and insulating layers are applied to the surfaces by screen printing and are permanently joined to the support by sintering. The fuel cells are assembled from individual layers and produced by a sheet casting and a screen printing process and are joined permanently to the support by adhesive sintering.

  • Patent number: 4996117
Abstract: A high-temperature protective coating comprising a ceramic material, in particular for structural components of super-alloys, characterized in that at least one oxide of a metal of subcolumn 4 of the periodic table of elements is stabilized with at least one further oxide of a metal and is enveloped in a corrosion-resistant manner, at least in some regions, by at least one ceramic material.

  • Patent number: 4763478
Abstract: A method and device for driving a linearly movable component, wherein a pressurized fluid is generated by feeding a given volume of oxygen into a combustion space connected to a piston/cylinder configuration and feeding a given volume of fuel into the combustion space for each motion stroke of the piston/cylinder configuration beore the start of the motion stroke, the given volume of oxygen is sufficient for the combustion of the fuel, the given volume of fuel is sufficient for generating the pressurized fluid, the oxygen and fuel are ignited in the combustion space, and the pressurized fluid is feed into the piston/cylinder configuration for driving a piston of the piston/cylinder configuration and a linearly movable component connected to the piston.
