  • Patent number: 6143386
Abstract: The invention relates to a form for the rotary printing, coating or imprinting of web-shaped materials and a method of producing the form wherein an elastomer layer is applied onto a carrier with a cylindrical surface area with the layer machined and engraved at the outer circumference to result in a cylindrical shape after curing. The form according to the invention is characterized in that the elastomer layer is formed of cold cure material. The engraving of the elastomer layer preferably is attained by laser engraving.

  • Patent number: 6032412
Abstract: Moulded bodies are described which comprise a humus-containing plant substrate consolidated with polyurethane/polyurea, which are obtainable by slurrying a humus-containing plant substrate in water, admixing a liquid NCO prepolymer having a maximum NCO content of 15% by weight which has been produced by the reaction of toluene diisocyanate with a polyether polyol component containing at least one aminopolyether polyol in an amount of 0.5 to 100 mole % with respect to the polyol component, and introducing the mixture thus obtained into a mould and allowing it to solidify. A process for producing these moulded bodies is also described, as is their use as growth media for seedlings in the propagation and raising of plants.

  • Patent number: 5001007
Abstract: Soft material flat gasket useful as an exhaust flange gasket, a cylinder head gasket or a secondary gasket for internal-combustion engines includes a porous soft material and a crosslinked impregnating agent included in the porous soft material. The crosslinked impregnating agent is comprised of a silicone resin and is the crosslinked product of at least one liquid polysiloxane having reactive hydrogen groups. Crosslinking of the at least one liquid polysiloxane proceeds in the presence of an effective amount of a catalyst, which catalyst is introduced into the porous soft material prior to introduction therein of the at least one liquid polysiloxane according to the inventive method of manufacture.

  • Patent number: 4962939
Abstract: A flat sealing gasket includes a mat of non-woven material having opposite faces; a polymerized impregnating agent distributed with the material and an overlay on at least one of the mat faces. The overlay which comprises a hardened, pressure-resistant polymer material is sunken into the mat to a substantial extent of the mat thickness.

  • Patent number: 4762330
Abstract: A sealing ring, having a ring body made, for example, of high-temperature resistant compressed metal fibers includes a roughened surface adapted to be pressed against and displaced by sliding relative to a counter-face.

  • Patent number: 4741965
Abstract: A soft substance gasket material preferably made of a metal reinforced fiber mat is impregnated with a silicone impregnating agent comprising a mixture of a polysiloxane having reactive hydrogen groups such as a polyhydrogen siloxane, an addition cross-linking polysiloxane such as a methyl vinyl siloxane, and cross-linking catalysts, preferably in the form of only one organic metal compound. In spite of having small quantities of addition cross-linking polysiloxane and cross-linking catalysts, the impregnated seals are not tacky after cross-linking, they are easy and inexpensive to manufacture, and they evidence improved functional characteristics such as improved resistance to hot media, temperature and aging when compared with seals impregnated with only one type of polysiloxane.

  • Patent number: 4681800
Abstract: An impregnated, soft, flat sealing gasket and a method of manufacturing same which includes the steps of impregnating a fiber mat with a liquid, cross-linkable silicone impregnating agent which includes a cross-linking agent which forms radicals under the influence of heat; heating the silicone-impregnated fiber mat to cause at least partial cross-linking of the silicone impregnating agent; and irradiating the impregnated fiber mat with high energy radiation to cause cross-linking of the silicone impregnating agent present therein, whereby the silicone impregnating agent present in surface regions of the flat sealing gasket is cross-linked to a greater degree than obtainable by thermal treatment alone.

  • Patent number: 4656085
Abstract: An impregnated soft, flat sealing gasket made by a process including the consecutive steps of preparing a gasket material selected from the group consisting of organic fibers, inorganic fibers, synthetic fibers and mixtures thereof and a binder; forming a fiber mat from the gasket material; impregnating the fiber mat with a cross-linkable impregnating agent and at least partly cross-linking the impregnating agent in the fiber mat; and adding to the fiber material, in a fine distribution therein, a duromer synthetic resin prior to the impregnating step and as early as simultaneously with the preparing step.
