Publication number: 20090050366Abstract: The invention relates to a potential distribution system for motor vehicles, which makes provision for a reserve on contact bars of an excess number of connection possibilities for further outlets. The connection possibilities which are not required can be closed off with a blanking plug and the connection possibilities which are required are brought in contact by means of an intermediate element, wherein the intermediate element can be designed as a fuse box or as an intermediate plug with integrated fuses.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2007Publication date: February 26, 2009Applicant: AUTO KABEL MANAGEMENTGESELLSCHAFT MBHInventors: Franz-Josef Lietz, Rainer Mackel, Thomas Schulz

Publication number: 20080204184Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit breaker for electrical supply lines, particularly power supply lines or battery cables, for motor vehicles, which circuit breaker is comprised of a first connecting element (1), a second connecting element (3) connectable to said first connecting element (1), and a current path whereby in the conducting state of the circuit breaker a current passes between the first connecting element (1) and the second connecting element (3). The technical problem of providing a circuit breaker for electrical supply lines which can be manufactured and advertageously, which ensures an error-free operation is solved in that is a pyrotechnic separating unit (5) is disposed which is thermally actuatable by Joule heat emitted at least one of said connecting elements (1, 3) by at least one of said connecting elements (1, 3) and in that the connection between the connecting elements (1, 3) can be released by means of the actuated pyrotechnic separating unit (5).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2006Publication date: August 28, 2008Applicants: Auto Kabel Managementgesellschaft mbH, DamilerChrysler AGInventors: Franz-Josef Lietz, Oliver Kastrop, Tomas Schulz, Reiner Mackel

Patent number: 6538203Abstract: A connection (V) of an electrical aluminum cable (1) with a connection piece (4) of another metal, especially of copper or a copper alloy, is brought about by crimping the wires (2) forming the aluminum cable (1) together in an end region and by welding to the connection piece (4), especially by a friction welding process. Moreover, the frictional heat between the materials is used to melt the two materials and to join them with each other without additional welding material. The aluminum cable (1) is provided for this purpose with a support sleeve (13) crimped upon it, which practically forms the individual wires (2) at the connection point into a solid surface, which is itself welded to the connection piece (4). Consequently, connection pieces of copper can be connected tightly and with good electrical conductance, without the danger of corrosion existing in the area of the connection due to various electropositive and electronegative metals.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2000Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Assignee: Auto Kabel Managementgesellschaft mbHInventors: Günther Nölle, Franz-Josef Lietz
