  • Patent number: 9435253
Abstract: An exhaust gas turbocharger module and internal combustion engine outfitted therewith are disclosed. The exhaust gas turbocharger modules have an individual turbocharging assembly with a low-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger with a low-pressure turbine and a low-pressure compressor which have a common first turbocharger axis. A high-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger is provided with a high-pressure turbine and a high-pressure compressor which have a common second turbocharger axis extending perpendicular to the first turbocharger axis. The low-pressure turbine is connected downstream of the high-pressure turbine via an exhaust gas connection line, and the high-pressure compressor is connected downstream of the low-pressure compressor via a charge air connection line. A housing receives the low-pressure turbine, the high-pressure turbine and the exhaust gas connection line. • Publication number: 20070184674
Abstract: The invention discloses a contact arrangement which has a connection terminal and a connection piece. Permanent magnets are arranged in the connection terminal or in the connection piece, and electromagnets are arranged in the connection piece or in the connection terminal. In each case one contact piece is introduced in the connection terminal and in the connection piece and these contact pieces are in electrically conductive contact with one another in the event of a magnetic attracting force between the connection terminal and the connection piece. The electromagnets are electrically conductively connected to a control device. The permanent magnets and the cores of the electromagnets are matched to one another in such a manner that either a magnetic attracting force or a magnetic repelling force exists between the connection terminal and the connection piece without a current being applied to the electromagnet.

  • Patent number: 5915372
Abstract: A heat exchanger for a cooking chamber extends around a ventilator fan of the cooking chamber and has a burner tube connected to one end of a first portion of the heat exchanger and has a reverse bend so a second portion extends parallel to the first portion in the opposite direction. The tube is mounted by the burner and the opposite end so that the reverse bends allows for compensation of thermal expansion in the tube during a heating process.

  • Patent number: 5675076
Abstract: A piston-type internal combustion engine includes an engine cylinder; a piston slidably received in the engine cylinder; and a device, carried by the piston, for measuring deformations in the cylinder wall. The piston has at least two radial bores. The measuring device includes a separate carrier element disposed in each radial bore. The carrier elements are attached to the piston in a region of the piston axis such as to be displaceable relative to the radial bores, whereby a relative motion between the piston and each carrier element is provided upon radial expansion and contraction of the piston. The measuring device further includes a separate, electrically inductive path sensor, which is electrically connectable to a measuring and evaluating device, and which is attached to a respective carrier element such that the path sensor remains out of contact with the cylinder wall at all times during movement of the piston relative to the engine cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5199416
Abstract: A hot air heat exchanger comprises a heat exchanger housing having a floor, which is essentially formed by a ceiling of an outer chamber and has at least one heat exchanger pipe extending from the floor to a ceiling element having exhaust openings, each pipe is secured to an exhaust opening in the upper wall of the outer chamber and a burner is disposed in an inner chamber which is positioned inside of the outer chamber with a spacing between the wall of the inner chamber and the outer chamber to allow air to flow therethrough. The upper wall of the inner chamber is provided with an exhaust gas opening, which is aligned with the exhaust opening of the outer chamber, and both openings have peripheral walls that are tapered to form a Venturi-like nozzle for drawing air in the space between the inner and outer chambers into each pipe as the exhaust gas from the burner in the inner chamber flows into the pipe to pass up through an exhaust element in the ceiling of the heat exchanger housing.

  • Patent number: 4652328
Abstract: In a process for connecting material segments made of an elastomere or of a thermoplastic material the sections to be joined (3,4) are placed between two pressure beams (1,2) in the area of the seam (5) to be created. The pressure beams are not mechanically connected to one another. The forces necessary to hold and to attach the material segments (3,4) are generated by the evacuation of suction chambers formed between the cavities (9) in the contact surfaces (6a,6b) of the pressure beams (1,2) and the segments to be joined (3,4).

  • Patent number: 4305820
Abstract: A disk-filter apparatus in which a filter disk is rotatable about a horizontal axis and lies substantially in a vertical plane to collect filter cakes on opposite sides of the disk. The filter cakes are each treated with a liquid from an array of ducts parallel to the filter cake and from which the liquid is distributed onto the filter cake. The ducts of each array are supplied at least in part through overflow boxes or weirs to control the pressure. The number of openings, spacing of the ducts and opening size are all selected to obtain the most homogeneous distribution of liquid onto the filter cakes that is possible.
