  • Patent number: 6094992
Abstract: This electromagnetic flow measuring method and the corresponding flowmeter serve to improve the measuring accuracy in the range of measuring errors below 1% in conjunction with acceptable costs. The meter includes a tube (1), in which the fluid to be measured flows during operation. A single pair (2) of magnetic field coils is arranged on the lateral surface of the tube (1) on a magnetic field diameter (3) for generating a magnetic field. A first electrode pair including a first and a second electrode (41, 42), a second electrode pair including a third and a fourth electrode (43, 44), and a third electrode pair including a fifth and a sixth electrode (45, 46) touch the fluid. The first pair is arranged on diameter (4.sub.1) and forms an angle of 90.degree. with the diameter (3); the second pair is arranged on diameter (4.sub.2) and forms an angle of approx. 45.degree. with diameter (4.sub.1); the third pair is arranged on diameter (4.sub.3) and forms an angle of approx. 90.degree. with diameter (4.sub.2).

  • Patent number: 5646353
Abstract: To measure the average velocity v.sub.m and the flow index N of an electrically conductive non-Newtonian fluid flowing through a measuring tube (11) whose portion coming into contact with the fluid is electrically nonconductive, this electromagnetic flowmeter further comprises: two coils (12, 13) positioned diametrically opposite to each other on the measuring tube which serve to produce a magnetic field when a coil current (i) flows therethrough; electrodes (14, 15) serving to pick off an induced first potential and an induced second potential, with a respective radius (14.sub.1, 15.sub.1) of the measuring tube at the point of each of the electrodes making an angle (.phi.) of less than 90.degree. with the direction of the magnetic field; a coil-current generator (21); a double-pole switch (22) for connecting the two coils either in series aiding or in series opposition; and evaluation electronics (24) which form a velocity signal (S.sub.v) proportional to the average velocity v.sub.

  • Patent number: 4104517
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for automatically determining parallax in a stereoscopic system, comprising the steps of: passing at least two imaging light channels through a moving grating structure; converting the light rays into separate electrical signals after passage through the grating structure; subtracting one of the electrical signals from the other to produce a signal difference; differentiating one of the electrical signals to produce a differentiated signal; multiplying the signal difference by the differentiated signal to produce a first multiplied signal; and controlling the orientation of one of the imaging light rays in response to the multiplied signal. Also disclosed is our apparatus for carrying out this method.
