  • Patent number: 8648212
Abstract: A description is given of a process for preparing solutions of radiation-sensitive, free-radically polymerizable organic compounds, where a first starting compound, which has an acid halide group, and a second starting compound, which has an alcoholic hydroxyl group, are esterified with one another in a solvent or in a solvent mixture. The solvent comprises one or more ketones having a boiling point of below 150° C. under atmospheric pressure (1 bar), or the solvent mixture is composed to an extent of at least 50% by weight of said ketones. One of the two starting compounds has at least one radiation-sensitive group and the other of the two starting compounds has at least one ethylenically unsaturated, free-radically polymerizable group.

  • Patent number: 8350063
Abstract: A process for separating trioxane from a feed stream I comprising formaldehyde, trioxane and water, in which a) a feed stream I comprising formaldehyde as main component and trioxane and water as secondary components is provided, b) the feed stream I, a recycle stream V and a recycle stream VII comprising formaldehyde as main component and water and trioxane as secondary components are fed into a first distillation stage and distilled at a pressure of from 0.1 to 2.5 bar to give a stream II comprising formaldehyde as main component and water as secondary component and a stream III comprising trioxane as main component and water and formaldehyde as secondary components and a stream X comprising water, trioxane and formaldehyde, c) the stream III is, if appropriate after removal of low boilers from the stream III in a low boiler removal stage, distilled in a second distillation stage at a pressure of from 0.2 to 17.5 bar, with the pressure in the second distillation stage being from 0.

  • Publication number: 20120067715
Abstract: In a process for purifying carboxylic acids comprising halogen compounds, the carboxylic acid is distilled in the presence of a nonvolatile auxiliary base, the halide of which is liquid at the boiling temperature of the carboxylic acid. The auxiliary base binds the hydrogen halide which is present in the carboxylic acid and/or has been eliminated from halogen compounds as a result of thermal action and lowers the vapor pressure thereof in this way, such that the hydrogen halide is held in the distillation bottoms and is not transferred into the distillate. Since the halide of the auxiliary base is liquid, the formation of solid deposits in the distillation apparatus is prevented. The carboxylic acid optionally also comprises at least one low boiler.
