  • Patent number: 4507427
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of organic polyisocyanates containing at least partly blocked isocyanate groups characterized in that specific cyclic dicarbonyl compounds are used as the blocking agent. The present invention also relates to the polyisocyanates containing at least partly blocked isocyanate groups obtainable by this process and to the use of the polyisocyanates containing at least partly blocked isocyanate groups obtainable by this process as reactants for isocyanate-reactive compounds for the production of isocyanate polyaddition products. The present invention also relates to the use of polyisocyanates containing at least partly blocked isocyanate groups obtainable by the above process for the production of aqueous stoving lacquers and to the use of these polyisocyanates for the production of aqueous polyisocyanate solutions or dispersions.

  • Patent number: 4452834
Abstract: This invention relates to a new process for the preparation of storage stable aqueous dispersions or solutions of cross-linkable polyurethane polyureas containing heat activated cross-linking agents, in which mixtures of hydrophilically modified prepolymers containing isocyanate groups, hydrophobic polyisocyanates which contain blocked isocyanate groups and are neither soluble nor dispersible in water, and compounds containing at the most one free aminic or hydrazinic primary or secondary amino group and at least one blocked group which under the influence of water forms a free aminic or hydrazinic primary or secondary amino group and a total of at least two such amino groups are prepared in the absence of water and then mixed with water, and it also relates to the aqueous dispersions or solutions obtained by this process and to their use for the production of coatings on heat-resistant substrates.

  • Patent number: 4331573
Abstract: Melts of Urethane-modified oligoesters and 1 or polyesters can easily be dispersed in an aqueous phase in the presence of a dispersing agent combination comprising a polyether-modified polyester and a non-ionic dispersing agent having a particular HLB value.

  • Patent number: 4321170
Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of polyesters or alkyd resins for coatings are prepared by co-condensation of 10 to 100 mol-%, calculated on the sum of polybasic carboxylic acids, of polybasic acids whose carboxyl groups are attached to secondary and/or tertiary carbon atoms. Said dispersions are excellently stable and yield coatings with outstanding properties.

  • Patent number: 4284544
Abstract: Blocked polyisocyanates with improved water-dispersible or water-soluble properties are prepared by reacting polyisocyanates, in which 50 to 99.8% of the isocyanate groups are blocked, optionally in a solvent-free environment with an organic polyaminosulphonate or an organic polyaminosulphonic acid in sufficient quantities to provide an end product containing from 0.1 to 10%, by weight, of sulphonate groups (SO.sub.3.sup.-). The blocked polyisocyanates have particular utility when used in combination with hydrophobic polyhydroxyl compounds as binders in aqueous coating compounds.
