  • Publication number: 20180095081
Abstract: Physical changes resulting from an association between a template molecule and a target molecule are detected by monitoring changes in the template molecule. Exemplary changes include a change in a physical dimension or stiffness of the template molecule, a change in electrical conductivity of the template molecule and a change in the energy required to dissociate the target molecule and the template molecule. The magnitude of the change is indicative of the specific identity of the target molecule.

  • Patent number: 9185879
Abstract: A litter box assembly for house pets is disclosed, which includes a container rotatably mounted to a stand, allowing the litter box to rotate from its normal position to a cleaning position and/or a resetting position. The litter box assembly includes contact portions that contact a portion of the stand or the floor in the cleaning position and the resetting position. When the contact portions contact the stand or the floor, the vibration of the litter box container caused by the contact facilitates the movement and dislodging of litter and waste. This contact can be repeated to facilitate the cleaning of the container.

  • Patent number: 8662900
Abstract: A bone implant surgery system is used for simulating a dental surgical procedure having a display that shows placing a simulated bone implant at a simulated implant site on a living body by using a simulated surgical tool holding the simulated bone implant. At least one hand-held haptic device is used to control the surgical tool and at least one controller is specifically configured to cause movement of the surgical tool on the display based on motions of the haptic device and to cause haptic feedback to a user holding the haptic device depending on the position of the surgical tool on the display. A user may then review and evaluate the results of the surgical simulation.

  • Publication number: 20130068313
Abstract: A flow valve with an integral pressure-independent fluid flow controller for controlling the flow of fluid and corresponding methods for controlling fluid flow are provided. The flow valve comprises a valve body, one or more valve blades arranged on the valve body for controlling fluid flow in a duct section, an actuator for modulating the one or more valve blades, a flow sensor or sensors for sensing fluid flow, a tuning calculation module adapted for determining or monitoring a pressure drop across the valve body and for calculating tuning constants based on the pressure drop, and a controller for controlling the actuator based on a difference between a fluid flow setpoint and the sensed fluid flow in accordance with the tuning constants. The pressure drop may be determined from an algorithm based on blade position and sensed fluid flow, or may be directly measured.

  • Patent number: 7096468
Abstract: A task linking program is provided for using a computer for interacting with on-line and off-line programming systems to perform tasks related to programming microdevices. The program is secure in being capable of being setup only in an administrator mode where microdevice, programming system, and other information can be inputted and changed. The program has an operator mode in which the program can only run the programming system. This provides the ability to employ relatively low skill operators to use the programming system.

  • Publication number: 20020074187
Abstract: Stabilizers for a step ladder and a step ladder with such stabilizers. The stabilizers consist of a pair of lateral supports. Each of the lateral supports has a first end and a second end. The first end is mounted to a top end of one of opposed side rails of the ladder. The mounting swivels to adjust the positioning of the lateral support about a plane perpendicular to a second plane lying across the side rails. The mounting also includes a pivot joint enabling movement between a stored positioned parallel to one of the side rails and an operative position in which the lateral support extends outwardly and downwardly with the second end of the lateral support spaced laterally from the side rails and swivelled into an intermediate position between the side rail and the support frame.
