Abstract: A hand starter for an internal combustion engine having an axially displaceable clutch member journalled on a clutch shaft, for co-acting with a fixed clutch member on the engine shaft. The axial movement of the displaceable clutch member, caused by pulling a start rope, is guided by a helical spring wound in a helical groove on the clutch shaft. The outer periphery of the spring is resiliently pressed against friction producing threads of a cylindrical bearing surface of the displaceable clutch member, to exert an axial force against the axially displaceable clutch member.

Abstract: A thread-storage and delivery device for a textile machine, wherein a hollow shaft is supported drivably for rotation on a stationary base member. The shaft drives a thread-feed member which tangentially winds the arriving thread on the surface of a stationary storage drum, from which storage drum the thread can be unwound over the drum edge through a braking ring which surrounds the drum edge and through a center removing guide which is supported on a structural part fastened on the base member, which structural part surrounds but is spaced from the storage drum. An axial guideway, for guiding therethrough a threading needle, starts adjacent to the free end of the thread feed member and continues to the removing guide. This guideway is arranged in a limited peripheral sector of the structural part. A turning handle is connected to the hollow shaft for aligning the end of the feed member with the guideway.

Abstract: A thread-storage and delivery device having a rotation shaft and a drum coaxial with and rotatably supported thereon. A feed mechanism rotates with the shaft for tangentially winding a thread onto the periphery of the drum. An advancing member is positively coupled to the drum for advancing thread windings thereon axially toward the withdrawal rim. The advancing member is rotatably supported on the shaft about an axis which is inclined at a small angle relative to the shaft axis so that the advancing member executes an axial wobbling movement as the shaft rotates. The advancing member has an outer portion projecting beyond the periphery of the drum for engaging the thread windings. Coacting braking and counterbraking elements cooperate directly between a stationary annular flange and the outer portion of the advancing member for maintaining the drum stationary.
