Abstract: A drum filter system includes a tank in which a rotary drum is disposed with liquid to be filtered entering inside the drum and exiting peripherally of the drum. The drum consists of a plurality of individual filter elements that are removable in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum. Each filter element is mounted using a unique mounting bracket assembly. A backwashing sub-system is provided that allows backwashing of individual filter elements as they are indexed into alignment with the backwashing sub-system. A conveyor conveys material removed from the filter elements by the backwashing sub-system to a point of discharge.
