  • Publication number: 20210081679
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention describe receiving, by a first device, an information vector over a short-range communication network established between the first device and a second device. Additionally, embodiments comprise determining the first identifier does not match the second identifier, merging one or more smart maps from the two or more computing devices together, comparing a first set of devices represented in the first set of participants and a second set of devices represented in the second set of participants, identifying pairs of matching devices in the first set of devices and the second set of devices, generating a set of unique devices by discarding one device for each pair of matching devices identified, and outputting a smart map comprising a count of participants equal to the sum of participants associated with the set of unique devices.

  • Patent number: 10908766
Abstract: A method and system for managing overlapping windows. A hook filter intercepts an event directed to a target application before the event reaches the target application. The event is characterized by an overlapping condition in which a floating window partially or totally overlaps an active window on a computer screen of a computer system. Responsive to intercepting the event, the hook filter detects the overlapping condition. Responsive to detecting the overlapping condition, the hook filter eliminates the overlapping condition to make the active window totally visible. Parameters of the floating window are recorded in a table, the parameters prevailing upon the intercepting of the event, the parameters including an overlap condition parameter. After the overlapping condition is eliminated and responsive to the active window becoming inactive, the floating window is restored on the computer screen in accordance with the recorded parameters.

  • Patent number: 10852144
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product are disclosed for providing a measure of pedestrian congestion in a given area. In one embodiment, the method comprises collecting data from a pedestrian moving in the area, and using the data to determine one or more specified parameters representing a pattern of movement of the pedestrian in the area. These specified parameters are used to determine a sinuosity of pedestrian traffic in the given area. In one embodiment, the pattern of movement is a walking pattern of the pedestrian, and the data collected from the pedestrian identifies a multitude of positions of the pedestrian's feet. In an embodiment, the specified parameters include a lateral gap between the feet of the pedestrian, and a length of a stride of the pedestrian. A sequence of values may be collected for each of these parameters.

  • Patent number: 10657738
Abstract: A method for identifying a trajectory for each vehicle involved in an accident. The method begins by plotting on a Cartesian Coordinate Plane GNSS locations corresponding to a vehicle involved in the accident. Next, the method identifies GNSS locations on the Cartesian Coordinate Plane where the vehicle was speeding. Next, the method marks those GNSS locations on the Cartesian Coordinate Plane where the vehicle involved in the accident was skidding. The process of plotting and identifying speeding as well as skidding is repeated for all vehicles involved in the accident. The Cartesian Coordinate plane then having all vehicle trajectories residing therein is sent to an output device.

  • Patent number: 10617039
Abstract: A method and system for cooling air within an enclosure. The enclosure includes a cooling system and a remaining portion of the enclosure that is external to the cooling system. An outside air temperature of air entering the cooling system from outside the enclosure is monitored. A blowing air temperature of air in the cooling system at the outlet of the cooling system is monitored. A first inlet of the enclosure is controlled to be fully open or fully closed, in dependence on the monitored outside air temperature. A second inlet of the enclosure is controlled by adjusting an amount of opening of the second inlet, in dependence on the monitored blowing air temperature. A valve in a secondary water circuit of the cooling mechanism is controlled by adjusting an amount of opening of the valve, in dependence on the monitored outside air temperature.

  • Patent number: 10437409
Abstract: A method and system for managing overlapping windows. A hook filter intercepts an event directed to a target application before the event reaches the target application. An association of the hook filter with the event was established. The event is characterized by an overlapping condition in which a floating window partially or totally overlaps an active window on a computer screen of a computer system. A software application is executed in the active window. Responsive to intercepting the event, the hook filter detects the overlapping condition. Responsive to detecting the overlapping condition, the honk filter eliminates the overlapping condition to make the active window totally visible.

  • Patent number: 10387558
Abstract: Facilitating interaction with a spreadsheet it provided. One or more input cells of a spreadsheet displayed on a display device of a computer system are automatically detected. One or more candidate cells of the spreadsheet are presented for selection, as candidates for inclusion in an interface for display on the display device in conjunction with the spreadsheet, the one or more candidate cells including the detected one or more input cells. Based on a selection of at least one cell, of the one or more candidate cells, for inclusion in the interface, the selected at least one cell is displayed in the interface, where the selected at least one cell includes at least one input cell of the one or more candidate input cells.

  • Patent number: 9946900
Abstract: A method and system for dividing tagged items into subsets. A region is split into subregions. For each subregion, a central tagged item having more adjacent tagged items in each subregion than any other tagged item in each subregion is determined, utilizing information that includes, for each tagged item in the region, a spatial location of each tagged item and a list of all other tagged items which are adjacent to each tagged item by being within a specified constant distance (Rlimit) from each tagged item. A virtual boundary is outlined around the central tagged item to enclose the central tagged item and a portion of the tagged items in each subregion which are adjacent to the central tagged item. The portion of the tagged items in each subregion consists of all, or less than all, tagged items which are adjacent to the central tagged item in each subregion.
