  • Publication number: 20190235496
Abstract: The disclosure provides methods for managing an automated system having a display and adapted to be controlled by a human operator and by at least one automatic controller. The methods include triggering a condition associated with a parameter of the automated system, displaying the parameter on the display in a first display zone, automatically changing the automatic controller between a first state and a second state subsequent to the triggering the condition, displaying the second state on the display in a second display zone, detecting, by a gaze tracking device of the human operator and after displaying the parameter and displaying the second state, a plurality of viewed zones of the display that are viewed by the human operator within a predetermined time interval, and verifying whether the plurality of viewed zones comprises at least the second display zone and the first display zone.

  • Publication number: 20150123820
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for determining over focalization of a pilot of an aircraft. The method includes receiving human parameter data from one or more systems that observe conditions associated with the pilot and receiving controls data that indicates an interaction of the pilot with one or more control systems of the aircraft. The method includes, based on the human parameter data and the controls data, generating at least one alert. The method also includes communicating the at least one alert to the pilot to change a focus of the pilot.

  • Patent number: 9002542
Abstract: A method for detecting piloting conflicts between the crew and the autopilot of an aircraft. According to the method, an automatic trajectory is programmed by checking whether the actual values of navigation parameters converge on said corresponding desired values within a predetermined convergence period; in the case where at least one of the actual values does not converge, within the convergence period, on the corresponding desired value, a predictive calculation is carried out, at consecutive future moments, of the value of at least one particular parameter selected amongst the navigation parameters; and in the case where the predicted value of the particular parameter is higher than a corresponding predefined threshold, an alarm is emitted for the crew of the aircraft to notify them about a piloting conflict being able to jeopardize the flight safety of the aircraft. A device for implementing the method. An aircraft including the device.

  • Patent number: 8525702
Abstract: According to the invention, as a function of the altitude, the vertical speed and the heading of the aircraft, as well as of the deviation of the actual trajectory of the aircraft with respect to the automatic trajectory, a time interval (T) is determined, during which it is tolerable for said aircraft to be able to fly without any control command, both on the part of the stick (1) and on that of said automatic pilot (2) and an alert is emitted for the attention of the crew in the case where it is noted that the absences of manual piloting and of automatic piloting extend simultaneously over a duration at least equal to said tune interval (T).

  • Patent number: 8493239
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for detecting lack of reaction of the crew of an aircraft to an alarm related to a path. The method includes monitoring the emitting condition of a plurality of alarms related to dangers in the path of the aircraft and monitoring a reaction of a crew during first and second time intervals determined based on how long the crew should take to response to the initial alarm in the first time interval and an auxiliary alarm in the second time interval. The method also includes implementing automatic avoidance operation for coping with the danger if the crew has not reacted to the alarms by the end of the second time interval.

  • Publication number: 20110148665
Abstract: A method and a device for detecting lack of reaction of the crew of an aircraft to an alarm related to a path. The device (1) comprises means (6, 8) for automatically emitting at least one auxiliary alert signal for signalling an alarm related to a path of the aircraft, in case the crew does not react to this alarm.

  • Publication number: 20110077803
Abstract: According to the invention, the method comprises checking (in 2) that the actual values of navigation parameters become closer to desired values within a predetermined time period. If this is not the case, the method comprises carrying out a predictive calculation (in 4) of the value of at least one particular parameter at consecutive future moments, and optionally transmitting an alarm (in 6) for the crew.
