  • Patent number: 9315097
Abstract: An agricultural tractor (10) comprises an engine (26) and a cooling package (24) supported in front of a cab (18). The cooling package comprises a radiator (30) and fan (28) disposed between the engine and cab, the radiator having a major surface which is aligned longitudinally so that an airflow forced through the radiator by the fan is generally transverse with respect to the tractor's forward direction of travel. The orientation of the radiator provides for a narrower front end installation which improves the driver's field of view and relaxes limitations on steering angles and cooling package size.

  • Publication number: 20150148112
Abstract: A grain storage container in a combine harvester comprises a front panel, a rear panel, and a first side panel mounted fore and aft on a lower hinge assembly. The first side panel comprises a top edge and a lower edge that form a non-zero angle relative to each other. First and second foldable materials couple the first side panel to the front and rear panels. The first foldable material is attached to the front panel and the first side panel. The second foldable material is attached to the rear panel and the first side panel. The front and rear panels further comprise a respective first fixed portion coupled to a respective pivotal second portion. Each pivotal second portion is coupled to the respective fixed portion.

  • Publication number: 20150132093
Abstract: A combine has a grain bin with a sump and an unloading system for unloading grain out of the bin. The unloading system has a pivoting unloading tube assembly movable between a storage position and an unloading position. The unloading tube assembly has an inner riser section and a variable-length outer transport section. When the unloading tube assembly is in the storage position, at least a portion of the inner riser section nests underneath a rear floor portion of the grain bin. The variable-length transport section has a proximal chute nested with a distal chute that can be moved relative the proximal chute. A nested conveyor assembly transports grain through the variable-length section. The nested conveyor assembly includes an endless conveyor and pulleys configured to form an upper grain transporting reach inside of the chutes and a return reach outside of the chutes.

  • Publication number: 20150008145
Abstract: A tank intended for the storage of hydrogen by absorption into material, including a first part (I) and a second part (II), each of the first (I) and second (II) parts including a barrel (4), closed at one first longitudinal end (4.1) by a substantially hemispherical part (6), the two parts (I, II) being joined by the second open longitudinal end (4.2) of the barrel (4) by means of an assembly plate (2), the above-mentioned tank including two heat exchangers (12), each being contained in one of the two parts (I, II) and intended to be under the same hydrogen pressure, the above mentioned tank also having means of supply and evacuation of heat transfer medium circulating in the above mentioned heat exchangers integrated in the assembly plate, and means of supply and collection of hydrogen.

  • Patent number: 8882121
Abstract: A utility vehicle such as an agricultural tractor comprises a steerable wheel secured to a wheel carrier which is mounted to a vehicle frame. The wheel is steerable through a range of steering angles about a substantially vertical steering axis A fender is mounted above the wheel on a support arm. The support arm is fixed relative to the wheel carrier so as to pivot with the wheel during steering through the whole of said range. The fender is pivotally mounted to the support arm at a pivoting mount located above the wheel. The fender is forced to pivot with respect to the wheel and support arm when the fender engages the vehicle frame.

  • Patent number: 8864156
Abstract: A vehicle has a chassis (11) with front and rear axles (12, 13) suspended from the chassis for vertical and roll movement relative to the chassis. The axles are each mounted on the chassis via an upper pivotal mounting means in the form of an upper pair of arms (12a, 13a) which is pivoted on the chassis for vertical pivoting movement relative thereto and which carry an axle support (15, 16) on which the axle (12, 13) is free to pivot in the roll mode. A second lower pair of pivoting arms (12b, 13b) also connect each axle (12, 13) to the chassis to control fore and aft movement of the axle relative to the chassis. The line of action of the forces (F1-F4) applied to the chassis (11) by the upper arms (12a, 13a) at one end of the chassis are be substantially aligned with the line of action of the forces applied to the chassis by the lower arms (12b, 13b) at the other end of the chassis to reduce and tendency for the chassis to be twisted by these forces.
