  • Patent number: 10017141
Abstract: The bumper beam of a motor vehicle comprising a chassis and comprising at least one horizontal flank and at least one vertical flank extending longitudinally to the beam comprises at least one bearing member arranged so as to be supported on the chassis and to exert a reaction force in one direction on said at least one horizontal flank during the absorption of an impact by said beam, said bearing member being stronger than said at least one horizontal flank in the direction of the reaction force.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 23, 2014
Date of Patent: July 10, 2018
    Assignee: Compagnie Plastic Omnium
Inventors: Stephane Ginja, Frederic Pierrot, Aurelien Seguela

  • Patent number: 7204545
Abstract: The motor vehicle fender support comprises a metal core with a top portion provided with fasteners for fastening to a fender. The top portion is provided with ribs arranged to stiffen it in the event of stress being directed in the transverse direction, and to buckle in the event of downwardly-directed impacts, when the fender support is mounted on the vehicle. The metal core also includes openings seeking to reduce its stiffness so as to satisfy predefined deceleration criteria. The fender support also comprises a rigid bottom portion designed to be fastened to the structure of the vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 2004
Date of Patent: April 17, 2007
    Assignee: Compagnie Plastic Omnium
Inventors: Jean-Pierre Roux, Frédéric Pierrot, Gérald Andre, Hugues Cheron
  • Patent number: 7004519
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle beam shell designed to be placed behind a bumper skin, said shell being provided with a recess for receiving a strength member inside it, the strength member being, for example, a strength member made of metal, in particular of aluminum, or a strength member made of a composite material incorporating a metal. The beam is provided with shell cladding which interfits with the shell, thereby forming a hollow body defining a recess for receiving the strength member.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 1, 2003
Date of Patent: February 28, 2006
    Assignee: Compagnie Plastic Omnium
Inventors: Thierry Roussel, Stephane Malteste, Frederic Pierrot
