  • Publication number: 20240181234
Abstract: A bilayer mold for forming polymer microstructures is provided. The bilayer mold includes a rigid plastic cylinder having slots defined along an outer periphery of the rigid plastic cylinder; and a layer of plastic elastic polymer material disposed within the slots and having indents defined therethrough and in the rigid plastic cylinder. The indents have a first profile extending through the layer of plastic elastic polymer and terminating within the rigid plastic cylinder. A metal polymer structure profile is also provided using laser-etching of a desired shape for the features of the microstructures in a metallic foil, followed by further refining of the features. The polymer and metal microstructures can be formed on the surface of a stent to facilitate retention of the stent.

  • Patent number: 11999763
Abstract: Organometallic complexes are described which are useful as pre-polymerization catalysts which may form part of olefin polymerization catalyst systems. The catalyst systems find use in the polymerization of ethylene, optionally with one or more C3-12 alpha-olefin comonomers. The organometallic complexes are broadly represented by formula I: wherein L is a bridging group containing a contiguous chain of atoms connecting P with Cy, wherein the contiguous chain contains 2 or 3 atoms and wherein Cy is a cyclopentadienyl-type ligand. The olefin polymerization catalyst system is effective at polymerizing ethylene with alpha-olefins in a solution phase polymerization process at high temperatures and produces ethylene copolymers with high molecular weight and high degrees of alpha-olefin incorporation. Pre-metallation compounds, metallation processes and synthetic methods to make the organometallic complexes as well as polymerization processes are also described.

  • Publication number: 20060272394
Abstract: In a gas gauge, effects due to changes in the local environment are reduced by causing a measurement nozzle and a reference nozzle to react as if they were co-located, or located at approximately the same position. This is achieved by venting the reference nozzle in very close proximity to the measurement nozzle. A reference chamber surrounding the reference plate and reference nozzle is vented at approximately the same location as the measurement nozzle. In an embodiment for use in a vacuum environment, the measurement nozzle is surrounded with an annular ring. The measurement annular ring is connected to an annular ring around the reference nozzle, which acts to co-locate the reference nozzle and the measurement nozzle. To avoid choked flow, another annular ring or rings may be placed around the measurement annular ring.

  • Publication number: 20060242292
Abstract: A system, apparatus, computer readable medium and method are disclosed for identifying underlying services of transactions in a service-oriented architecture (“SOA”)-based computer network. In one embodiment, a computer readable medium includes executable instructions to characterize messages communicating among services to form characterizations of the messages. Also included are executable instructions to determine dependencies using the characterizations of messages within a subset of the services. These dependencies can be represented as dependency links interconnecting the subset of the services that effectuate a transaction of interest. By identifying the dependency links, the underlying services in SOA-based networked computer system can advantageously be determined for managing the behavior of the subset of the services and other distributed services of the SOA-based networked computer system.

  • Patent number: 6818893
Abstract: A flame detection apparatus has a focused array based sensor which is responsive to radiation having a predefined wavelength for generating an image of the infrared radiation emitted within a monitored region, and means for measuring the spectral ratio of the intensity of radiation having a first wavelength emitted within the monitored region to the intensity of radiation having a second wavelength emitted within the monitored region. Processing means analyzes the output of the focused array based sensor and the spectral ratio measuring means for responses indicative of the presence of a flame within the monitored region.

  • Patent number: 6710345
Abstract: A turbulent fluid, such as a flame, is examined using an array of infrared detector elements. The relationship between the thermal emissions received by different elements at different times is analysed, for example using correlation functions.
