  • Patent number: 4353594
Abstract: A suspension seat has a seat part, which includes a seat support frame and a back rest frame pivoted about a horizontal axis to the seat support frame, the seat part being mounted through a spring suspension on a base part, and a vibration damper of the piston and cylinder type pivotally connected between the seat and base parts. The lower end of the vibration damper is pivoted to the base part. The upper end of the vibration damper is slidably connected to the back rest frame and pivotally connected to the upper closed end of a yoke whose lower ends are pivoted to the seat part as closely as convenient to the pivotal connection between the vibration damper and the base part to allow tilting of the back rest frame without significantly varying the distance between the ends of the vibration damper.

  • Patent number: 4198025
Abstract: A vehicle seat has a seat part mounted on a base part by a suspension which includes a gas spring. Valve means are provided to control the seat ride position by controlling the entry and exit of compressed gas into and out of the gas spring. The difference between the actual ride position and a selected ride position of the seat is sensed, and a control circuit is used actuating the valve means to raise or lower the seat to reduce this difference to zero. In order to prevent seat vibration, such as is caused by passage of a vehicle over rough terrain, from continually causing actuation of the valve means, the control circuit is provided with desensitizing means.

  • Patent number: 3954298
Abstract: Height adjustment mechanism for a suspended vehicle seat permits the seat height to be adjusted relative to its supporting frame after the seat has been adjusted for the weight of the occupant. A plate (movable with the suspension) having notches or teeth on one edge is adjustably locked relative to a channel (movable with the seat) in which it can slide by a handle actuated pivoted latch member.
