  • Patent number: 5482141
Abstract: A forklift truck has a chassis structure with at least two sections 11, 12 hinged together for pivotting between an open working configuration and a closed stowage configuration.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 24, 1994
Date of Patent: January 9, 1996
Assignee: Wilson Double Deck Trailers Limited
    Inventor: Frederick G. Wilson
  • Patent number: 5443350
Abstract: A goods vehicle has a body with upper and lower load-bearing floors and each mounted for vertical movement within the body. The upper floor is raised and lowered by a hoist. Telescopic links connect the two floors such that when the upper floor is less than a certain height above the lower floor it can move independently of the lower floor, but when the upper floor is lifted above such height it entrains the lower floor and the two floors move together. In another embodiment the two floors are fixed together for movement together over the full range of vertical movement of the upper floor.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5074314
Abstract: A health device comprising a sheath (10) having an annular ring (13) of solid but relatively pliable construction attached to the outward open end (11) thereof. The sheath (10) is formed to be inserted within a vaginal or anal body orifice prior to sexual intercourse. The annular ring (13) may be formed so as to be removeably attached to said sheath (10). The sheath (10) may be formed at its closed end (12) so as to encompass a formed shape (14, 15) to locate and maintain the sheath (10) in the body orifice during use.

  • Patent number: 4930971
Abstract: A lift platform for location at the rear of a road vehicle comprising a horizontally extending platform member moveable vertically between at least one vehicle floor level and substantially ground level. Two fluid actuated rams are located vertically, one on each interior side wall adjacent the rear wall of the vehicle. The pistons rods of the rams extend in opposite directions from their respective cylinders. Fluid pressure is connected to be fed via one ram to the other to ensure equal movement of both pistons in the same vertical direction. The rams are connected by wire ropes or chains via pulleys to the platform member, and a fluid equalizing arrangement is connected between the rams for adjusting the horizontal level of the platform members.

  • Patent number: 4656809
Abstract: A profiled sheet material is formed into side panels and floor or deck panels for use of example in the manufacture of high-sided lorries, trailers and containers. The profiled sheet material (10) has a plurality of parallel deformations (11) which in cross section are substantially triangular with the base (12) of each deformation spaced from the body of the sheet. The apex of each deformation is formed by closely abutting curved faces of the sheet material (1) where the body of the sheet material is bent into the deformation. Floor or deck plates incorporates strips of timber (50) whose longitudinal faces are tapered. These are located between adjacent pairs of deformations (11) with a tapered faces abutting the respective sides (42,43) of the deformations. A series of indents (41) are also formed along the length of the web (12) of the U-formation. The U-formation is then deformed by pressing the tops of both limbs (42,43) inwardly towards each other to form a triangular formation.

  • Patent number: 4646499
Abstract: A roof of corrugated sheet material having profiled cross-section of alternate troughs and ridges. The troughs have adhered therein a filler material to fill the troughs to at least a level flush with the level of the ridges on each side thereof. A waterproof sheet covering is located and adhered over the whole extent of the roof. The troughs may have a substantially greater width than the width of the ridges. The filler material may be in the form of elongated blocks or a panel of heat insulating material. The roof may be formed in sections, juxtaposed and attached to side walls of a structure such as a vehicle prior to the covering being adhered thereto.

  • Patent number: 4546969
Abstract: A low floored trailer has a base frame welded to wheel arches and flooring formed over the major part of corrugated sheet welded to the base frame and overlaid with wood, between the wheel arches i.e. above the wheel axles, the floor is formed by a flat plate. Upright corrugated walls are also welded to the base frame. The axles are supported by springs carried by cross beams in the wheel arches to that the load carried by the trailer is transmitted through the springs to the base frame in the vicinity of the wheel arches and into the upright walls. Because of the lowness of the floor a larger than usual internal height is obtained, which is important especially where the overall height of the trailer is restricted by regulations.
