    Abstract: Discretely coated sensors or eyelets are provided for use in medical electrodes. Also provided are sensors for use in medical electrodes where the sensors are coated with a with a silver/silver chloride coating in a discrete area. Silver/silver chloride medical electrodes are provided that have a sensor or eyelet made of conductive plastic which is discretely coated with silver/silver chloride only in the area in which the sensor makes direct contact with the electrolyte gel in the conductive pathway.
