  • Patent number: 8439835
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for providing protocols for administering an aspect of care are presented. Specifically, certain embodiments relate to a sepsis diagnosis and management protocol which may have been segmented according to the severity of the sepsis, where the care directives provided by the differing segments of the protocol will be of differing intensity or invasiveness based upon the severity of the patient's disease. Embodiments of such protocols may be implemented in conjunction with computer systems to aid in providing that aspect of care in conjunction with a particular patient.

  • Publication number: 20070182128
Abstract: A Rudder Hitch Cover that simulates a sailboats rudder assembly in appearance and motion. The Rudder Hitch Cover attaches to a vehicles trailer hitch in such a way as to be easily removable. The rudder blade bracket (24) may swing side to side in response to the vehicles motion. The rudder blade (30) may rotate up if contacted by a fixed object such as a curb or speed bump.

  • Patent number: 7002478
Abstract: A method of operating a computer for smoke and flame detection comprising the steps of: receiving digitised images of the region to be monitored; comparing pixels of one of said images with pixels of another said image according to two predetermined procedures to produce a flame present decision and a smoke present decision; and providing a fire detected signal according to said smoke present and flame present decisions.

  • Publication number: 20040078369
Abstract: A method of a computer system configured to sort data analyzes characteristics of storage system components of the computer system and the data to be sorted. A maximum number of sending processors of the storage system components is determined based on the characteristics and the data to be sorted. A control structure for the sending processors is determined based on the characteristics, the data, the characteristics and maximum number of sending and receiving processors, and load on the sending and receiving processors. The load is balanced across the sending processors and across the receiving processors. The storage system components are configured based on the characteristics, the data, the maximum number of sending processors, and the load, such that each receiving processor of the storage system components of the computer system is dedicated to a single disk or set of disks.

  • Patent number: 6682481
Abstract: Methods, software, and apparatuses are described for resuscitation of shock due to trauma and/or hemorrhage. A representative embodiment involves a method of treating shock in a patient. A plurality of data elements representative of a condition of the patient are acquired, and shock in the patient is treated by following a step-by-step goal directed, data driven protocol, which references the plurality of data elements. The fixed protocol may be implemented in software or otherwise.

  • Patent number: 6526490
Abstract: A processing system has a processor with a memory map identifying locations in a memory where data are stored, data associated with an application being stored at the same location every time an application is run. The processor runs each application during specified processing time slots. A monitor contains information as to the memory locations associated with each application and the time slots during which each application should be run. The monitor also has a register containing a keyword, which is compared with a keyword supplied by the processor 1 when it switches between user mode and supervisory mode so that the monitor denies access to memory locations associated with the other mode.

  • Patent number: 3961829
Abstract: A resilient mounting comprising an outer rigid member formed with an aperture in which is situated an inner rigid member, a deformable first annular element extending between the inner and outer rigid members, and a second annular element being located between the inner and outer rigid members, the first annular element being formed of a material having a resilience different from that of the material of the second annular element. The mounting is particularly applicable as a support for the center bearing of a vehicle propeller shaft, of which the following is a specification.
