Patent number: 11679916Abstract: A dispensing closure system includes an upper closure portion and a lower closure portion including an axial flow conduit and a vent conduit. The upper closure portion is axially movable relative to lower closure portion between shipping and dispensing positions. A seal is disposed on the lower closure portion over the flow and vent conduits. A peripheral spacing strip is removably secured to the upper closure portion and engages with either the lower closure or the outside of the container to prevent movement. A piercing probe includes piercing elements in alignment with the flow and vent conduits for piercing the seal. In the shipping position, the piercing elements are spaced from the seal. However, when the spacing strip is removed and the upper closure portion is axially moved to the dispensing position, the piercing elements pierce the seal to open the flow conduit and the vent conduit.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2022Date of Patent: June 20, 2023Assignee: Silgan Dispensing Systems CorporationInventors: Thanhhung Le, Brandon Ramsuer, John Scott, Frederick Thompson

Patent number: 9962750Abstract: The present embodiments are directed to systems and methods for forming a pipe carcass. In one embodiment, a first series of forming rollers are configured for forming a primary carcass strip material. A second series of forming rollers are configured for forming a second strip material into a shape different than the primary carcass strip material. The primary carcass strip material and the second strip material, after being fed through the first and second series of rollers, respectively, are each fed concurrently into a plurality of winding rolls for assembly with one another.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2014Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: BARTELL MACHINERY SYSTEMS, L.L.C.Inventors: Walter Frederick Thompson, Paul David Gatley, Kenneth Brian Turvey

Publication number: 20140156064Abstract: Techniques to deliver multiple medications in a synchronized manner are described. A synchronization engine operative on a processor component may receive a prescription order for a period of days comprised of multiple prescriptions for a single patient. Each prescription may be representative of a medication and include prescription data. The prescriptions may be synchronized to conform to the period of days. A customization engine operative on the processor component may determine a master hours of administration (HOA) schedule for all of the prescriptions in the prescription order over the period of days. The medications may be placed into the appropriate pouches of a single customized package based on the master HOA schedule. The single customized package houses all of the medications for all of the prescriptions and may include one or more pouches for each day in the period. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2013Publication date: June 5, 2014Inventors: Patricia CRAWFORD, Mark MAGLIONE, Justin TOWLE, Thomas R. Publication number: 20110239349Abstract: A protective gown with a tubular overlay, or tube, on each gown sleeve attached on one end at the user's forearm as the tube extends toward the upper arm as a surgical glove is donned and the gown sleeve is tucked within the glove cuff. The tube then extends downward toward the sleeve end and over the glove cuff forming a channel in which the glove cuff is positioned and retained. The tube is secured to the glove from within the tube as it engages the glove cuff. Areas of increased frictional resistance may be added to the tube underside to engage the glove cuff secondary surface as the sleeve is tucked within the glove cuff. Increased frictional resistance may be obtained by employing strips or a coating with a low tack surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2011Publication date: October 6, 2011Inventor: W. Patent number: 6393410Abstract: The invention relates to a process for estimating a construction project over a computer network. The first step in the process starts when an architect or contractor enters information relating to at least one construction project into an online database. This online database is stored on a server creating a series of quantities for each of the at least one construction projects. Next, a system host presents a series of quantities for each of the at least one construction projects. Next, users such as contractors, subcontractors or construction managers can purchase and download these quantities and a construction report. These quantities are presented in a unique electronic spreadsheet template. Once the users have this template with the quantities included, they can bid on each construction project either online or through any other communication means.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2000Date of Patent: May 21, 2002Inventor: Frederick Thompson

Patent number: 6132148Abstract: A machining tool and method of making same includes a blank that is formed to a shank and which is provided with machining faces. The machining faces are configured to expose material of a PCD or PCBN element that is formed in a recess in the blank and fused to the blank using material from the transition group of elements, such as cobalt. The recess has a configuration that is defined by side walls, a base wall, and end walls, so as to define a mold in which the PCD or PCBN material is formed into an element that becomes fused with the blank. Such fusing is achieved by leaching of the cobalt into the PCD or PCBN element during the application of heat. Thus, no additional fabrication process is required for joining the PCBN or PCD material to the blank.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 1998Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Assignee: Habit Diamond LimitedInventor: Michael Frederick Thompson
